Shifting to Warm Weather Knits | Pondering the Emotional Support Chicken | Hilo & Stitch podcast E76

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome back to another episode of the Hilo & Stitch #knitting podcast, in which I FINALLY finished the baby bear suit! I've also made some progress on my Isle pullover, but I'm shifting gears toward warm-weather knitting.
And yes-I may have fallen victim to the Emotional Support Chicken cult.
This episode is NOT sponsored by Knitting for Olive yarn, despite what it may look like.

I thought the emotional support chicken was a crazy idea when I saw it, but I have now made 6 of them. Everyone I've ever shown them to thinks they're adorable. So I gave one to a friend with health problems, two to college-age granddaughters who have anxiety and depression issues, and three to grandsons who are brothers and little kids. They are so much fun to make, they can be made out of stash yarn in any color, and they are so cute. So there you go. I too have wondered how they got to be "a thing", but who ever knows what causes a style, a phrase, a song, or an emotional support chicken to go viral? Maybe it was the name that made everyone laugh that did it.

I probably wouldn't have knitted an Emotional Support Chicken for myself, but I decided to send a picture to my step son and he loved it, and I knew it would be the Christmas gift for my step kids (all in their 30s), then when my oldest son saw it, he said he wanted one too, so I may end up knitting 6 of these things for all the kids (none of whom are kids anymore!) But as others have said, it's a fun and quick knit. Join us! (lol)

My son has already said he wants one, so I guess that's at least one in my future 🤣🤣
