Work paid for should have been itemized on the initial work order and/or final bill. IF BW was paid for I'd being asking for at LEAST partial refund. A body place fill my 65 Mustang bumper bracket holes in the rear and what a piss off that was. The LR DOES however look not too shabby there Bud.

i have had 6 cars painted by maaco,only one bad job and that was just overspray,i had my buick gn painted there and was satisfied with the job,it also depends on the maaco location

So about 2 years ago i rebuilt my 04 rear diff 2 days ago my damn rear went again ready to junk this damn titan even tho i love it , really do have a love hate relationship going smfh , great vid

The place i went to qoted me 10k for my 96 1500 ram single cab. Thebwd and doors arethe only thingthat needed work and i was just goingto order new door shells from LMC. The guy tried selling me doors $800 a piece for junkyard doors her inthe midwest. I laughed and said i can get new shells for half that. I said the lower qaurters on the bed that were damaged,i wanted cut out and new panels welded in. He was hopong to fill the damage in with filler. I said this is a restoration job not an insurance claim. I want it done right. Then he asked about the door jambs and i said the doors have to come off for the new ones so it would be a good time to paint the jambs before yhe doors are reinstalled. I felt i wasnt going to get the finish i wanted. For the money it seemed he was takingshort cuts. Then be couldnt vive me a time frame stating he had other work to do, which i took as he wasnt going to do ot in a reasonable timeframe. Ive painted myself and done lots of body work so i know how much goes into a paint job and gettingthe body straight. Thankfully my truck is straight as new except for the rusted doors and the bed damage on the quarters. I waseven going to bring ir in wothout bumbers , mirrors and grill so they didnt have to do anything except start working. If im going to pay that much for that little of work ill spend 15k at a real shop that will do real work. Even at that a a factory level paint job with just two small panels to be cut out and welded in shouldnt cost more than 10k.

First off, I commend you on tackling this project on your own. That said, this right here, is an accurate depiction of why things like this cost so much. Your comment "this is where skill and experience comes in" says it all. When you look at something like a header that costs $1000 for someone to build, this is why.

I built some for the 1st. time the week of 4/15/24 and I'll never attemp that again until I get a tig welder. I used my Lincoln with .035 flux core(I had no money for different wire) and that is awesome wire to burn through rust, paint, mill slag and you can weld in high wind. But it is dirty. Lots of cleaning up of splatter and smoke. My lowest setting is way too hot for thin exhaust pipe. But I'm finally finished. Make sure you leave room for spark plugs, dip stick and wires and anything else that might be in the way

That dent is not repairable with paintless dent repair, it's too deep and the metal stretched. It needs to be filled.

What happened to the back cover? Did your kit not come with the blue leather to cover it? Is that an LSeats kit? If so , it should've come with the leather for the backs. But, overall, you did a good job!

When my nylon bushings fall off I always just wrap electrical tape around it, the doors on my 81 c10 are electrical taped, and the tailgate on my 01

If you paid for bodywork, it's not acceptable. I learned my lesson with MAACO: when they do the estimate, make sure you point out EVERY SINGLE DING AND DENT that you want repaired, and make sure they circle each one on the vehicle itself with their yellow marking crayon AND have written it down on the estimate - "dimple in left rear quarter panel," "dent in right front door," etc etc.
