PAINT YOUR CAR AT HOME: TIPS FOR PAINTING CARS IN A DIRTY SHED OR SHOP
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I've spent the past 5 years painting in HORRIBLE conditions. Here's what I learned. If you guys like this video and want a longer more detailed version let me know in the comments below! Now go paint something (pending the laws in your state/province allow it)
What you saw in this video is listed and linked below:
Sander - amzn.to/3VYjq8r (any sander will work but you want a dual action ideally)
Rust inhibiting spray paint - amzn.to/3QtopwI
Primer - amzn.to/3Czpttq (this will likely be cheaper at a paint shop)
Pro Air Filter - amzn.to/3itbVIY (not necessary but helps ALOT with water and is what I use)
Beginner Air Filter- amzn.to/3Zph45v (use this if you're just trying to get painting as cheap as possible, I replace them with each coating)
Gun - amzn.to/3GpJLqe (you can get really picky here, if you're just starting out basically any gun with a 1.3 or 1.4 fluid tip is good I like telling people to learn on cheap guns because it wont hurt if you mess it up. This paintjob started on a $180 gun that I don't recommend and ended with the cheapest one I could find)
Wax and Grease Remover - PPG "JX101"
Basecoat - PPG Shopline "JB"
Reducer - PPG Shopline Medium Reducer "JR506"
Clearcoat - PPG Shopline Universal Clear "JC60"
Techron - bit.ly/3hQIZ9s
Havoline Smart Change - bit.ly/3hrDJKp

Glad you're still here 2023
I struggle with this stuff in my garage all the time, ends up taking more time since it wouldn’t always be done right. Thank you for the video, from all of us viewers!
A suggestions for anyone Diy painting in a dim shop. on lighter colors if you turn off the lights and use a flash light to go over the panels after your last coat you will beable to see places you missed. works really well 👍
Thanks for taking the time for all of us diyers. This was very helpful, keep after it.
It's a good morning for me in Kenya when I get to start my day with your videos..I feel like today I can paint my 73 Mazda fa3ps all by my self...thanks...alot
I painted one of my cars with Shopline paint. I 'solved' the dim lit garage problem by taping a flashlight to my paint-gun.
I like how honest you are with all of your videos. Hoping to see them regularly again this year -- missed you in 2022! Keep it up!
Great content -- so glad you are BACK! I would love a longer more detailed version!

Great explanation and great results, I have had very mixed results with painting cars in my garage, but you have given a few tips that I will be trying next time. like you most, of my painting is done in less than ideal conditions but you have managed to get some fantastic results. Keep up the great work.

Welcome back!
Great content !
Great job! Thanks for the advice. What kind of a compressor and air pressure did you use to get this done? TIA.
Welcome back
Keep it up bro!
Bring on the content. Whoop whoop.
What kind of activator do you use in clear? Fast medium? What kind of guns do you use? Same gun for primer base and clear?
It's nice that the car is drivable.
❤️❤️
Bro, you missed most of the rust. That pitting will continue to creep inward
Do it at home then after bring it shop to fix it properly… Double the expense
2nd comment dont @me
too many dust particles. You spray paint in a mess. You deserved that. Good luck with wet sanding and buffing all that out.
I like this video, however painting should be kept secret so you don't get all sorts of know it alls trying to do this, the kind of people whom can't even mask up a car...
