I'M MAKING THE WORLDS LEAST RELIABLE CAR RELIABLE: Range Rover Classic pt. 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I'll start by saying taking on this job was a huge mistake, these trucks are even worse than I thought. It broke down with 25,000 miles and then sat for 10 years while parts were robbed off of it. I'll finish by saying I waited until I was done with it to start making videos so there is a good ending coming.

Lots of Range Rover Classics on the road with 200k+ miles. They die from rust mostly. I just finished a year long restoration on a 95 and ill take it over my supercharged Range Rover any day just for the fun factor.

I hate to see good content not be pushed to viewers, I love all the builds on this channel, and it's all in such good taste. The MR2 the MGB, even the Porsche are so well built in a non-ricey way and I wish you could reach more people.

Maybe sell packages or levels of service. Use that as content. So have videos on refreshes for clients, revives, restores, restomod, survivors, custom and official built designs. Get as much customer work for content. Having each trim level as it owns series and rotate between series to keep content up and game the algorithm. Good luck

Only chizzled gods like Dennis Reynolds drive green Rovers. But he has an amphibious rover. The only one in the world.

Great episode! I was a little apprehensive at first because of the Land Rover, but going sniper Efi definitely improves the vehicle! I'm excited to see where the project goes.

Rover V8's are notorious for the rocker shafts and rockers that see tiny particles of aluminium circulate through the rest of the engine. If changing cam, then change rockers and shafts too as well as timing gears etc. Valve lash cannot be adjusted apart from spacers under the rocker pedestals, so that lifter pistons have the correct amount of travel in the lifter body.

Gotta love the 215, got the rover 3.5 version in my mgb gt, and I can agree 100% the fuel injection system was the worst decision going 😂🤣

Those OG Range Rovers are getting valuable, they are both worth restoring. The best way to make it more reliable though is an LS swap.

Nice! I’ve just rebuilt a RRC with a 3.9.. check the bores for pitting and the block for cracks. The water jackets in these rovers are known to be offset between bores, creating weak spots due to thin material between jacket and bore. Subbed!

So glad you’re keeping the Buick 215/Rover V8. I had a 4.2L from a LWB swap in my SWB with a mild cam. I regret selling it, but looking to get another to build. I’m actually looking to do the same thing with a sniper on the next one but going to build a 4.8L/293ci. They really aren’t that unreliable, more misunderstood.

@@alexwray8132 Well said 👏 They SO do deserve it, when they were first built here in the UK 60/70s a lot of British cars were made on a budget, and some parts were made cheaply to cut costs, and therefore head gaskets and most of the electrical materials suffered the consequences! And British Leyland workers were on strike a lot of the time. Sadly its evident in most car's of era 😢

They are going up rapidly in value and aren't at all unreliable. The later ones from P38 onwards had more problems because of leading edge tech but I've owned classic, P38 and currently L322 and have never really had any major problems. It helps that I can work on them myself

There are loads of these Classics abandoned, rotten, blown head gskets, steel inner body panels shot, no floors, no boot.... parts cars and some with no titles... I own 2..... both need total resto.... paid $1500 for 2... i might sell.. but for twice or threee times that number... as owners are addicted to parts cars for these... interiors are very nice and burl sets aint cheap. rims, glass, let me know 92, 93 LWB

It’s a hunter… these were cool, stripped down versions. The only thing I wish they’d have come with (in the US) was a manual trans. The hunters have some special little bits and pieces. 90% will have been stolen at this late date.
