When you are dependent on cheap loans and debt to pay your bills as a business you can make those calls. Good on you Dave

I work for a company thats like this. Dodges Chicken based out of Tupelo. All through covid really took care of all of us no matter what. Enough cash reserves that if all traffic to their 40 some odd stores in 7 states stopped we would all have jobs for some long period of time. The job can be a lot sometimes but working for someone who has their head on straight and acknowledges that they have an end to keep up in those situations really does help you feel better about going FAR out of your way for the whole team when its required. Through their leadership and the way they take care of their... Responsibilities? (Not sure if tats the word i want t use) It makes it so much easier to justify going that extra mile or two. Ive never worked harder, or felt more secure in my job to be honest.

Great show I'm enjoying it!! And I seem to have this super power when I watching a show. My insightful power was telling me that the talk ended somewhat after 2 pm. Actually not really.... I don't have a superpower... I just happened to see Mike Roe lift up his phone when he was talking and and I saw it said 2:00 p.m. when there was a few minutes left in the program. 😁

My buddy worked for a company who laid off people at one of their local buildings, only to rehire the same amount layoffs at a different local building. And they got tax credits by the state because it was "job creation"

I had a job like this. Owner put his 19 year old daughter in charge of 5 accounts. I had a problem at my account with a subordinate, who refused flat out to do what he was supposed to and refused to listen to me. I went to her with this problem. He was inappropriately interacting with the female janitors. She was not interesting in doing anything job related, just gushing over any "cute" guy under her, or at the accounts. Ugh. She was the apple of daddy's eye. I didn't even bother to complain, I just found a new job.

This is what happens when you have a privately run company with a leader that runs the company based on their philosophy and values. This is why I will never work for a corporation where I can’t look my boss in the eye and shake his hand. That rule has saved me a lot of suffering in life

Book an Airline Ticket! Go ahead and try & "Not Pay" before Flying! 😂 Why do people not do "Cash Businesses?" I mean, "Accounts Receivable" is not just Silly, it's poor Cashflow Management, it seems to me! That's the Business of Credit Card Companies! They are the Buffer, between income & outgo!

The other side of that is Fire people to reduce “cost”. Collect your bonus and jump to another company. Do this repeatedly so you win and can sit around complaining about how poor people just don’t work hard enough and you are over taxed.

I know a young woman who worked at a classy chain restaurant, she was the greeter and cashier, she was always friendly with the customers, and she earned the most tips, it was a tip jar on the counter and staff loved working on her shift, because the tips were divided evenly between all the staff during that shift. She also worked hard when there were no customers; swept the floors, took out the garbage, etc. Then, she got involved in a boyfriend who her friends warn her about because he was doing drugs, and she went downhill, didn't always show up on time at work, was very moody, etc. She was gently let go by the manager, or so she thought. Then, a few years later, after she dumped that boyfriend, and looked for work, she tried to apply to this chain restaurant again, she discovered she is on the 'do not hire again' list.
