4:45 hearing her laugh at that remark from Dave just fills my heart. Love EntreLeadership as a program with a relentless positive, aspirational, optimistic outlook. Always room for a laugh. Sometimes the main Ramsey show gets a little overwhelming with two hosts and a guest all overlapping.

Really liking Dave with these Entreleadership calls, the end idea is probably OK, only scary thing is she has been running it and its not turning a profit

exactly. It sounded like she was running it in the beginning of the call but towards the end it sounds like she’s been running it for 7 years and it’s still doing bad. She might be thinking it’s because of him, or she has been half assing it in hopes he sells it to her.

Similar situation to how I ended up with my Barbershop seller was asking 35 I said no disrespect. Most I could do is 12 to 15 K went back-and-forth for a couple days she dropped her price to 22. I said how about I write your check for 17 and we made the deal happen. Came with about 7K in equipment so it’s like I paid 10k for the business.

I like Dave talking about hair styling.... It shows how business savvy he is.

I actually live in LA so I Definitely want to hear how this ends.

Erin, we are about to open a new salon in around a month and I have experience looking over the financials of existing salon businesses. If you see this comment please respond to it and maybe I can talk to you and help you out. Also, our build-out is costing a fraction of the estimate range that you believe you will be in. Spending your money on lawyers and a very long drawn-out negotiating process will be the best money spent in regards to dealing with the owners of the space. You really just need a box to do business in that has certain plumbing and electrical requirements and of course looks decent.

So wait the only thing that'll be different is who is the owner? If all the people the same why isn't it doing better than it is? Does she and the others have the following to have a positive income flow, it doesn't seem like that now. I wish Dave would've asked questions around this.

Does she have any idea how to run a business? Maybe it's not making enough because it's in a bad location or the ladies are not good at it.

"failing" is the operative word

In addition... a salons value is judged very differently from other businesses because a lot of the clients will follow the stylists around from place to place if they are in close proximity to the old place. Multiples for a salon are very different than let's say a corner store or a home service business. The actual product are the stylists which can leave at any second. If you change pay plans to become more profitable you could lose half your employees in a Flash which would obviously decimate your Revenue. Unfortunately the current owner is quite typical. He has no idea how a business is valued and especially how a salon business is valued. Unfortunately the competition that would bid the buy this business are oftentimes just as ridiculous as someone like this that sells the business. Just like he knows no better the buyers oftentimes don't know any better either. Sometimes you just have to let two excuse my French idiots fight it out.

So she has been running since the girlfriend left & it’s now failing, how convenient. 🧐🤓
