I have been platinum for the last 9 years, and gold for 10 more. Early check in, or if there is a wait list for rooms, having status gets you in your room faster. I have flown into Europe with an early arrival and the Frankfurt Marriott or Sheraton airport let me check in 8 or 9 am for no additional charge. I have also waited in the lobby for hours waiting for rooms to be cleaned. Many free breakfast are limited on buffets. You will be told you can eat from this half of the buffet, but its an up-charge to get the full buffet. Example Orlando World Center Marriott. Marriott has a list of hotel brands that offer free breakfast, so don't just go and assume you will get it. Some hotels, promise they never heard of it. I have literally helped the check in staff go through the Marriott website, and they are "shocked" that platinum gets free breakfast at their hotel. Asia you will get the most bang for your status, and breakfast buffets are much better than their US counterparts. European hotels usually have better breakfast than American hotels, but not as good as Asian. Marriott has been on a major point devaluation trend for the last 10 years, so do not lets points sit too long, because they will not be worth as much next year. They have a major liability on their books of customers holding points, and devaluating them helps the financials look better. Its an industry standard, so its not just Marriott.

Great information Birch, I came for the apps reviews and I am going with Copilot, but I have to ask, what software did you use to edit/build your videos? or do you have someone doing it for you? I really enjoy the video and I got really curious! thank you!

I think you'll really enjoy Copilot, but no need to rush the decision with 2 months free trial! As for the videos, I use FCPX and do all the editing myself. I'm still pretty slow, but trying to improve bit by bit with each video. I lean on motionvFX plugins for some of the more whiz-bang graphics. Thanks for noticing and happy budgeting my friend!

I love my AmEx Platinum. One thing not mentioned in your video, currently we get free Walmart+. For the free shipping, I now order Walmart grocery delivery and cancelled my Instacart subscription. THEN, as a Walmart+ subscriber, you get Paramount+ for free which I was already paying for. So some benefits have a domino effect onto other ones.

I truly feel Copilot is hurting themselves by isolating themselves to Apple and excluding Windows and Android. Apple only has approx. 40% of the US cell phone market and much less globally. They also only have approx. 15% of the computer market. I would love to try their app but I dont own an Apple product.

United airlines could stop charging for economy seats, like aisle seats. There never used to be fees for economy. Stop putting 99 year old frail ladies in the exit row just because they paid extra. They aren't rescuing anyone in an emergency. Here's an idea, allow first responders to sit there for free. They serve the public and they are trained for rescue. It would be a nice thank you to them. Instead of the airline just being more and more greedy and putting money over safety.
