MY RECENT EXPERIENCES (2019-2023) Houston IAH United Club Terminal E is comparable to the DMV, do not pay to get in - but if you have access, go for it. However the United Polaris at IAH, wonderful! IAH KLM is a 'shared' lounge, a bit better than the terminal canteen. EVA airline IAH lounge (another shared lounge) is a 'notch' above the average, the food, the free spirits as well as the takeaway snacks (I recommend the turkey jerky) impressive. United lounge Tokyo NRT is very well appointed for long layovers: Hint, free sushi and top tier spirits (and self serve beer taps - but I don't drink beer). The ANA in NRT is, by-far the best: best appointments and overall layout - my personal favorite. My second favorite is the EVA at TPE Taipei Green Card and Gold Card facilities. My disappointments are (1) United club lounge Singapore - always a crowded and (2) KLM Amsterdam - morning access are the worse - also very crowded.

Good to know! "Comparable to the DMV" - ha! Agree with the United lounge in NRT - still one of my favorites. I've had pretty good luck throughout much of Europe. The international lounge in MUC is two stories...amazing. The state-side lounges, as you mentioned, are really a mixed bag. Although, still better than waiting at the gate! Cheers! Thanks for sharing your insights. Obviously well-traveled.

Is it worth it? United Club - No. United Polaris - Yes. Lufthansa Senators - Yes. Singapore Silver Kris - Yes. ANA Lounge - Yes. Philippine Mabuhay - No. Brussels - Yes. Thai Royal Silk - Yes. SAS - Yes. Ethiopian - No. But really, I'm not going to turn down lounge access over siting in the gallery - no matter how disappointing the lounge might be.

Thanks for sharing! On a side note, one of the best lounges I’ve been to was United Club in Tokyo. A different, state-side, United Club is also the worst lounge I’ve been to. So highly variable. But….still better than waiting at the gate!

@@BirchFinance I haven't been to UA Club NRT in years. Last time I was there, it was getting long in the tooth. Usually at NRT, I'll go to one of the two ANA Lounges for some beef curry and maybe a shower! My least favorite United Club is the ORD C Concourse. Small, always crowded and I've had enough of that butternut soup. But I do like the ORD B Concourse United Club. I can always find a table with an outlet near the buffet line. Nice to see a United flyer making videos we can relate to!
