  Heard him live in Prague, playing Preludes, Etudes Tableux and Corelli Variations. The dispassionate bored crowd didn't have an idea, what they were witnessing... only reaction was after notorious G minor prelude...

  Good performance. The camera direction is simply stupid, though. The director clearly did not know anything about the piece or what makes it interesting. In a concerto, the focus should be on the soloist 99% of the time. Some times they even cut to Lugansky only to use an angle in which his body blocked the view of his left hand! Bizarre.

  Я не только восхищаюсь прекрасным исполнением произведений Сергея Рахманинова а также благодарю Николая Луганского за благородный поступок в оказании финансовой помощи Александру Ермакову в востановлении усадьбы Ивановка как жаль что его больше нет .Восстановление Ивановки было делом его жизни . Еще раз благодарю Николая Луганского за его бескорыстную помощь на деле доказавшего любовь к музыке С.В.Рахманинова в отличие от некоторых...

  I love his articulations and touches, but this is the first time I heard him played such a number of wrong notes 😅 looking forward to more of his performances of this work! Also, Lugansky's description of Brahms op.83 is very touching and I agreed with him wholeheartedly. p/s: is it my ears, or is the audio balancing of this recording totally off?
