“[…] But should we be thinking of such things today, fresh from Chopin's F minor Concerto? God forbid! What are an entire year's issues of a musical journal against a concerto by Chopin? What are the ravings of a pedant against those of a poet? What are ten editors' crowns against the Adagio of the Second Concerto? And truly, Davidsbündler, we should count you unworthy of any respectful salutation could you not yourselves dare the kind of work about which you write - with certain exceptions, of course, including this Second Concerto, which none of us can presume to approach, unless it be with the lips to kiss the hem!”
- Florestan, 1836, “Neue Zeitschrift für Musik”

I literally just woke up thinking, see if Lugansky plays Chopin piano concerto #2 , because the #1 he plays is absolutely my favorite, and then BAMMM I saw this video posted 9 hours ago 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And I'm still waiting for him playing Chopin Ballade 1

I saw him today performing Chopin's 1st piano concerto in Budapest! It was amazing!
I could listen to this concerto for hours. Lugansky - 5 Stars!!!
If a picture is worth a thousand words then this piano concerto is all the gold on the cosmic scale. This being said partially due to the fact that this consummate masterpiece is the work of a teenager. Chopin’s youth defied that old adage of wasted years for sure! It’s close to fifty years ago when I first heard this piece and fell in love immediately. It’s passion was instantly assimilated and it was like the music I had subconsciously longed for all my life. This pianist knows his stuff and convinces me of his affinity for a timeless work of beauty. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! PWG
Gorgeous regal…Marvellous Chopin Piano Concerto No 2 in F minor. What a dream Extraordinary !Thank You Nicolaï Lugansky .

His second concerto was written before his first !😉
I thoroughly enjoy Lugansky playing Chopin. Apparently, he does too 30:49.
