“Stupid opinions” are still opinions. Isn’t this country about freedom? Saying that you shouldn’t share your opinions is also and opinion. Seems like some pseudo powerful people just don’t want to be criticized. When they start talking about “shutting people up” is the the beginning of a dictatorship. Lame.

Sadly, logic simply doesnt work when appeals to emotion work like magic tickets. "Poor me", "think of the children", "I have a baby!" and "Respect the elders!", garner far more support than pure logic or common sense.

It feels good to be in a creative flow, and because it is creative work it can feel very meaningful and fulfilling, but I also want to make memories and savor time. Flow is too effortless and time goes by too fast. I enjoy the memorableness of surprises and discontinuities. I think engagement and feeling alive but also having more metacognition and being in a more learning and novelty remembering mode is what I prefer to flow.

If it was this simple to "become" or to not become, we could just try to hate all of our best qualities and become gods amongst men, and/or, all insecure or self-loathing people would be champions. This sort of tagline is super reductive and kind of illogical.

a real nihilist doesnt care for their life or the lifes of others around them since everything is pointless and a means to no end to these people but I can see why 13 year old edgelords (who think theyre nihilists) say that he is one

I obviously disagree with the „life is meaningless“ comments and I have a ton of arguments and philosophy against it, but let me tell you something towards the „I‘ll be forgotten anyway in a few generations“ mindset. 1.) you don't know that, there are many people we know of that lived hundreds or thousands of years ago 2.) it that is your attitude it might be self sulfilling 3.) we are the direct result of the people that have lived earlier, so in a way we are them and they are not forgotten. Especially if you think about DNA. 4.) we know of people who lived thousands of years ago when there were not even books yet. Now we have technology so basically no information is ever lost. 5.) what you did in life and what you fought for can live forever. Or your ideas or the changes you made. The things you worked on, the legacy you left behind, the children you may have, the life you create in this world, the meaning you chose to create.

Great video, thank you! More people *need* so see this. Especially the reditt edgelords in /nihilism and /pessimism. And yes, Camus didn't know what we know about mental illness and especially depression. Hell, poor Schopenhauer, sad fellow didn't even know it was his sick / chemically imbalanced brain that caused him to think like that.

And it will help me when I'll inevitably feel overwhelmed with my grief in the future. Thank you for putting my grief into a new perspective
