My dad needs a pruning knife for the garden but i don't want to suggest it in case somebody says a man is waving a knife around and he gets shot or heart attacked by armed police. The media are distorting who the crime people are so regular people think people like us are the danger. The people doing the weapon attacks are rarely people like you or my elderly father. Instead i leave him to struggle with aging hands while squeezing secateurs and an inferior pruned English garden.

Great that the police were as chilled as they were but it doesn't half drive me insane that some random jogger felt it necessary to get involved! He should clear off back to his vegan diet and Yoga and let country folk do country things 😂

I remember once out with a shotgun on my uncles farm. Had some dog walker 2 fields over on another farmers land, leave the footpath, come through a gate into the field with cattle, leaving it open, then across to me and demanded to know if I had permission to shoot. "Yes I do, its my uncles, you however, have left the public footpath, crossed onto another farms land and are now trespassing on it, you wanna call the police or should I?" The worst I think, was sat in a high seat, private land, waiting for a deer to turn up, no where near public footpaths, some woman just walked right under me with her dog. Didnt see me. But jesus, they have no idea.

The curse of mobile phones, 40 years ago when i was a kid we used to roam for miles with air rifles, through fields hills and woodland, sometimes being out all weekend, but we had permission and as we grew up locally in the countryside we weren't the sort of idiots that vandalise and always left the place as we found it, else we wouldn't be wanted back.. being used to the outdoors held us inn good stead when most of us enlisted.

Heartwarming video. Cops couldn't have been nicer I do'nt think. But what has this country turned into in one mans lifetime? People are scared of their own shadow now and what used to be a perfectly normal countryside situation is now, to some, a reason to trouble the police. Maybe some people should stay in the towns if they are so scared of the big outdoors.

This happened to me years ago. Called the police and they sent a helicopter…armed response unit and 2 normal police cars. For shooting a tin can alley with an air rifle. In bags. All within law. Flags up on my passport even to this day even though it was dropped. Thought americ’as customs officers were gonna stick a hand up my ass. 1 hour 45 minutes I was questioned for in Florida.

A member of the public reporting is not an issue so long as it is not malicious. There are far too many tw*ts out there doing stuff they shouldn't and if they catch one of those.....😅 You were perfectly legal so whats the issue. The bigger issue is the average police officers total lack of knokledge related to this area is quiet shocking. Most people don't get the difference in city life and country. I moved from rural Glouc to rural Dorset and I have been surprised at how anti-countryside the Dorset community is. Its more like London. We are divorced from our food. Its all plastic and foam wrapped. No gutting, taking the coat off or dressing quarry. Good grief, we even seem to think men competing against ladies has to be fair. Its just madness. Myself and a friend have been shooting a very big golf course for years. There is one neighbour to the course who is extremely anti shooting. Actually, arrogant male chicken is the general opinion. We take deer, fox and rabbit so use centre fire, rim and air. When we are near his place, we switch to low noise weapons but he still calls the police who are of course obliged to respond. Calling it in takes ages and makes no difference anyway. On one occassion, we ended up with 3 or 4 units 5 or 6 officers and the helicopter. He knows who we are and when we are on site as his home overlooks the entrance and he has CCTV. He knows our 4x4's. God much money he caused to be wasted. You could argue the jogger was concerned. They might have been poachers. Incidentally, a 12 FPE springer is the same as a 22 FPE PCP. what is different is the trajectory between the different cals and weights, and retained FPE over range. The heavier the pellet, the more energy it retains.

Only problem I see is they were shooting 'targets' and not zeroing. I don't know anyone that has target shooting on their fac cert for the land they own. Only ranges. Not saying they don't, but it's very unlikely. A lot of people don't understand that zeroing is fine but tsrget shooting for the most part is not.

I wish I could get a firearms licence. I haven’t got a criminal record or anything or any speeding fines it’s just I hear they are almost knocking everyone back these days so why bother. I’d love nothing more than to go hunting wild boar around Europe and in the U.K. because they are good eating. I’ll never forget that wild boar sarni I had or take my dad out hunting with me. I’ve had air rifles and air pistols when I was younger and I was taught gun safety by a pro who was a family friend that’s sadly passed away. The other thing that concerns me is if you make that investment in buying firearms they all can be confiscated just because you got a speeding fine so that investment will be a lost. I know that they would prefer if we were not armed so make it as hard as they can and I also know they can confiscate your investment at any time so why bother.

Your wrong. Getting an fac is super easy as long as you have the reasons for one. Join a syndicate and you can get one. Took me less than 20 days before. Time depends on the area. Also loosing your guns because of a speeding fine is not the case unless you were doing like 80mph in a 30mph. Your not gonna loose them for doing like 40 in a 30

@@ChemicalShots Remember, it’s up to the discretion of the chief cumtstable. If he or she is having a bad day then they could just say “The Computer says no”. If it was just purely based of criminal record or speeding fines and or points on your driving license or slaps on the wrist when you were a teenager that thinks he can fight the world because hawmones are coursing through his body and they can’t help them selves then everyone would be applying. It’s like the law for 3” none locking folding knives - even though they are perfectly legal to carry you still have to have a good reason to be carrying one if you get caught with one and it’s up to the discretion of the officer because you still need to have a good reason for having one on you. It’s just to easy for a copper to get one over you if you piss him/her off thus I’m not putting a large investment of money into something that can be taken away from me on the whim of a person.

Me and my friends years ago, went into our local woodland (not many people ever go in them) with Airsoft guns for some Airsoft wars, some lady called the police saying that kids were shooting real guns in the woods 💀 they were going to send out the armed forces but luckily a local officer heard the call and said he’d check it out first, 3 cars cornered us, and they were very nice and respectful as was I, they checked down the guns, and they were amazed by them, and then done some plinking with us, too the the guns to their station, and my parents collecting them soon after :)
