This was the biggest disaster in Irish history. Uninvited planters and land thieves who were criminals driven out lower Scotland because they were nothing only trouble, taking a part of our country. They can go back home.

They were the original ‘Irish’ in America. Presbyterians all. They secured your western expansion and independence. The reason they don’t put ‘Irish’ on census forms is because they are FUCKIN AMERICANS. They were, and are, the best of you. NO SURRENDER. Scots-Irish the best on the planet, take no shit. We are still here in the U.K. 🇬🇧

The Mayflower Compact was the first written agreement in the world between people stipulating how the signatories would govern themselves; it was executed in present day Massachusetts more than 100 years before the Wautaugan settlement. This video is grossly inaccurate.

I wonder why a quarter of a million of them left? Could it be the oppressive Penal laws of 1695 which also affected Presbyterians? Laws meant to take away their freedom of religion? Imagine that! Ulster loyalists being screwed over by England. How things have changed?

What we have today is not a Democrat party but a liberal far left party that has highjacked the name and identity of the traditional Democrat party in many parts of America..... as a Republican and Trump supporter, I wish that our opposition would live up to Jackson's political heritage... we would be less different and our country would be stronger as a result!!!

Lowland Scots-Irish here. The family settled in Western PA in the mid-1700s. Most of the Walker family settled farther South and had a rough go of it with the Cherokee.

Story as old as time. The Scots in Ulster and others were brought in to "plant" this part of Ireland and remove the Irish from their native lands. They came as oppressors and want to retain their privileged status.

Some of the Scot-Irish went to Canada's Eastern provinces on the Atlantic Ocean. Nova Scotia means New Scotland. Newfoundland also. Newfoundland was independent till it became a part of Canada in the 1950s. In my family line 2 Scots-Irish brothers left the Northern part of Ireland (Ulster) and went to Nova Scotia. 1 brother stayed there and 1 went to Pennsylvania. So there are many people in Canada who share a history and genetics with those we consider hill folk, Appalachian or even Hilly Billies in the USA. No video I've seen mentions how the Scots-Irish went to countries besides the US. They also immigrated to Australia and New Zealand. On a genealogy sure I just found a distance relative in New Zealand. Sure enough they're of Scots-Irish descent.

My ancestor got kicked out of Ireland for being a part of the Irish Rebellion in 1798. He was a Presbyterian with the last name of Brown from somewhere in Ulster (maybe?) whose baptismal records were supposedly burned. I find the Irish Rebellion completely confusing as to who is on whose side. He wound up in Northeastern Vermont in a town full of Presbyterians where his descendants, my grandfather, met a MacNamara, my grandmother, who was Catholic. So, they wound up being United Irishmen after all!
