Another Ulster cowboy is William Boyd, who played Hopalong Cassidy, although he was born in Ohio, he was my Granny’s cousin (she was from Ballynure) and his father (not sure about mother) was definitely an Ulster man.

Nah read your history the West was mostly German or English with a dash of Ulster Scots and Scots. Go farther south it was mostly Ulster Scots and Scots with a dash of English, German, French and dutch. The North was more Irish which was industrialised and had far less cowboys. Plus New York itself was originally built up with English, Scots, Welsh and Ulster Scots until the mass immigration. Even New York had it's own 12th celebrations which was massive until the Irish caused the Orange Riots. The Irish isn't as big as it claims to be in the USA as the Ulster Scots there was told they were Irish. Due to people looking into their family DNA and history there has been a slow drop of people thinking they are Irish to a slow rise in the Ulster Scots identity. Again read your history plus read the statistics
