This channels goal is to teach you how to catch more Crappie, Catfish, and Bass. I have been a full time Lake Fork Guide since February 1996 and I want to share with you my fish catching secrets that I have accumulated after all these years on the lake. Lake Fork is known all over the world for it’s trophy bass fishing. However, Lake Fork is full of giant crappie, blue catfish and flathead catfish. On this channel we are going to teach you the techniques that I use as a Lake Fork Guide to catch these species. Please hit the SUBSCRIBE button and don’t forget to hit the bell so you don’t miss out on any upcoming videos. Thank you for your support.

Any of them work I love jug fishing limb line fishing any type fishing
I agree. The anticipation of what’s on the other end of the line when pulling them in is what I enjoy.
My granddaddy always told me to put a stick in and prop there mouth open and they will run the rest of the gar out of the hole of water
@@hubertanderson7044 really? That’s interesting. There sure a bunch of gar in this ole lake. I don’t guess many folks eat them around this area.
@@CATCHAHAWG I’ve eat them lots of bones but not a bad tasting fish. When I was little we would fish the river and if we caught one my dad would take a pice of corn stalk and open the gars mouth and put it in it and release it . The gar would go crazy and he said that would run the other gar out of that hole of water old timers
@@hubertanderson7044 I may have to try that one lol I appreciate your comment 👍
Those perfect eating size
@@hubertanderson7044 yes sir they sure were. I’m hoping to get out there again soon and try some other jugs I made up. Thank you for taking the time to watch 👍
Awesome video buddy👍👍 some nice slabs
@@fishingwithfredo2639 thank you buddy. Have you been fishing any?
@@CATCHAHAWG having fished buddy been too busy making a pavilion and a pool area for my grandbabies LOL😋😋
@@fishingwithfredo2639 👍
Been fishing under a small bridge lately and caught crappie, bass and walleyes...👍
@@j.s.3297 I would like to catch some walleye. Everyone says they are fantastic eaters.
Great Video. good to see you chasing crappie again...What is your water temp there at Lake Fork ours is running low 80's in Alabama. I went the other night and only got 1 bass and 1 catfish. May have to try early in the morning between 3 and 5.
@@glennmize9057 thank you Mr. Glenn. It’s been hot over this way. Mid 80’s and above depending on where you are. That might change however next week when that hurricane hits depending on how much rain we get. You been chasing bass and not crappies?
@@CATCHAHAWG no that bass was caught in January during a crappie tournament on a 14 ft. Rod. The fight was on.
@@glennmize9057 nice 👍
Hey this was some great footage right here... I bought a Humminbird beginners model 500 series fishfinder and i have been studying how to recognize structure and fish but the challenge is what to through at them once you locate them, this Steelshad Blade lure is the ticket.. thanks for sharing ...Happy 4th of July 2024
@@trucolored I’m really glad you liked it. Those types of baits work really well when the fish are finicky. The steel shad is a little bit more pricey than some of the other brands but they all work great. Thanks for taking the time to watch 👍
@@CATCHAHAWG I just ordered (4) from BassProShop and plan on putting them to the test. Like I said Im in the learning stages of using a fishfinder and a buyo marker, I will share my results with you. I think this lure was a great find and hope you continue good sucess with your fishing guide business. I need a invite to Texas hint hint lol
@@trucolored hope you bust them. Keep me posted on how it goes 👍
I don't have electronics to find them
@@daviddaigrepont9485 Hey David I didn’t have any electronics until the last few years. I’ll admit it has made it a lot easier but they can definitely be caught without it. I used to move up and down the bridge casting at every piling. When I would get a bite I would try to get my jig at the same depth every cast and it worked great. I appreciate your comment 👍
Looked fun.
@@imsowright90 have you been out there lately? Been hot 🥵
Hey man i 👀 ctaching them crappie yep ive caught thousands off bridge pilliars in the summer time pre FFS 👍
@@slabbusterrtr7690 yeah that was one of the best patterns going before live sonar. Sure do appreciate your comment 👍
That is smart fishing in the shade when you can. Thank you for sharing your great videos Brother and keep'em coming.
@@19jake23 Thank you Michael I appreciate your support 👍 need a big umbrella and portable ac these days lol
Where can I find those pliers?
@@johnmaddoxoutdoors1537 hey John I wish I still was able to get them. They are fantastic but unfortunately no longer available.
@CATCHAHAWG I scoured the internet last night looking and could not find anything close. Have a great day and thanks for the video
@@johnmaddoxoutdoors1537 yeah I was the only one selling them. Hopefully I can get some more one of these days. Thanks for the comments 👍
Are you fishing in the creek channels, and what is the depth?
@@lanniesteen9154 hey Lannie how have you been? I’m not in the channel. Depth is 22 to 25 for now. All this heat will change things soon.
Thanks for the update and let us know if and when they change. Glad you're back. Enjoyed fishing with you last year.
Wow!! Your livescope is super clear . . . .
@@ppdrawings you know I get that a lot from folks. It’s a four year old unit with the old lvs32 transducer.
I would absolutely love to have a bridge to fish pillars on ; 👍 nice catches!!!
@@ppdrawings that lake you fish doesn’t have a bridge crossing it?
@@CATCHAHAWG There's a road crossing it but it's on the dam • can't even get over to it :
@@ppdrawings well shucks. Do they stack up in front of the dam?
Good to see you back at it.
@@justinc3434 thank you Justin I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. 👍
I charge my battery every time i head out, but on the water it was shows 11.4-12v. The battery is 4yrs old. Could it be the same issue with urs? Cheers.
@@Cparker8 might just be the age of the battery. I used to never have to charge my cranking battery but it seems like the newer ones just don’t last as long as they used to. I rarely get much more than a year out of mine these days.
@CATCHAHAWG Wow 1 year? That's crazy. The battery indicator on mine is showing 'recharge battery' even though I already have. Also I don't recharge it straight after use but instead the next time right before i head out again. Probably not good right?
@@Cparker8 I’m guessing it’s the age of your battery that’s causing the voltage to be low. If you check the voltage while the engine is running it will tell you if it’s charging. Mine is around 14v when running.
@@CATCHAHAWG thanks for the response mate, subscribed.
I'm not sure that I like circle hooks. I haven't bought any yet, but I have made them out of hooks that I have. I've been robbed more than I even saw the bite. Missed just as many as robed me. I do better with regular crappie books and catfish hooks.
Good poles. I have owned several of these.
Yeah they work great. We use them every day during March into April.
Brilliant! Straight to the point and its a dyi. Love it!! New sub.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment 👍
4inch littl bitty? Did your wife tell you that?.. 😂 ihave like ten sizes smaller .4inches is average
Here in Oklahoma we call them flip flops. They work great.
Hey Rocky thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍
My local lake is flooded with Lilly pads, and I got my biggest bag fishing the edge of them last year
Nice 👍 do you use punch bait out your way?
thanks for the video. wish i had seen this before i spent $280 on a stator thinking that was my problem.
👍May not fix everyone’s problem but it did mine.
Those were some nice eater size catfish. In Alabama we call those spotted Channel Cats like you caught Appaloosa Cats.
Thank you Mr Glenn. We had two limits by 8:30 this morning. They biting good. All on cane pole and slip cork.
Excellent video and simple information....
Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 👍
You did well on those cats. You could have sponsored a big fish-fry!
Thank you Loyd for taking the time to watch. It’s funny you mentioned that. I’ve been thinking about who I could donate fish to for a while now .
We came down to Atlanta, GA this weekend and took my grandson fishing at Lake Lanier. Tried out the “CatchaHawg Wacky Rig” you posted last week. It worked well for largemouth on an otherwise slow afternoon. Looking forward to trying it on the home lake in Indiana when we return. Thanks Gary.
Hey Richard that’s awesome. Keep me posted on how your fishing goes around your area. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍
I used to use a similar t bar set up but I used the big carabiner clips to hold the rods
I may have to rig up something else since they break. I’m sure being in the sun every day isn’t good for them lol
Man you sure did get into um good Buddy!!! 👍 I'm really liking your catfish and set up 😮
Thank you sir. I had a good time out there. Sure was hoping for one of those big flatheads .
Great video
Thank you Chris. I appreciate you taking the time to comment 👍
Yes sir you need circle hooks on them. You wont loose as many.
Thank you Matt . I’ve got them rigged and ready. Just have to find time to get out there 👍
They’re guarding fry down here in Alabama.
Yeah they are doing that here as well. They sure do like that frog when they’re guarding. Thanks a bunch for the comment 👍
Who dimmed the lights?..😂
Yeah that’s what those chickens were saying lol they didn’t know what to think 🤔
nice i bet it gives a good look under water too as the hook in center gives a wiggle action
👍works great and costs less than the bands they sell specifically for it . Thanks for watching.
I’ve been doing the same thing with red drink straws for years.
Hey Jerry thanks for taking the time to comment. Yeah it’s been close to thirty years for me as well. It’s funny how they come up with all these new names like Neko rig when it’s always been a nail weighted wacky worm to me lol
Great tip. We live on the lake full time now. I’ll try tonight!!! Thanks Gary.
Nice 👍 let me know how it works for you.
Good info.
Thank you sir. 👍
Great video, does ned rigs stop you from getting stuck between rocks?
Thank you for the comment Chris. I wouldn’t say they don’t get hung up but they do work pretty well and the fish love em.
Awesome catches!! Those spotted bass are some good tasting fish - I may have to switch over to bass fishing since the crappie are acting crazy
I’m starting to think the lake you’re fishing doesn’t have many big ones lol
@@CATCHAHAWG It seems like it but I hope that's not the case !
@@ppdrawings well with that new FFS you have you should be able to see them and catch them no matter what the weather is. If you don’t see them they aren’t there lol I’ve got a lake down the road that’s full of 10 inch and less crappie but very few over 12 inches. I think it’s due to only having gizzard shad in the lake and they are too big for them to catch and eat.
@@CATCHAHAWG Wow! I'm going to ride over the entire lake this week just to see what I can find
@@ppdrawings that’s a great idea. Look at every little piece of cover you can find. You may have to start fishing another lake for the big ones lol
Those river fish are good fighters. Fun video. Thanks Gary.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Richard 👍
Still not finding quality fish • & we're dropping back into the 30's tonight This Is Crazy ! ! !
