I have been a full time Lake Fork Guide since February 1996 and I want to share with you my fish catching secrets that I have accumulated after all these years on the lake. Lake Fork is known all over the world for it’s trophy bass fishing. However, Lake Fork is full of giant crappie, blue catfish and flathead catfish. On this channel we are going to teach you the techniques that I as a Lake Fork Guide use to catch these species. I use the pool noodle jugs with a cut off piece of rebar to tip up the jugs when the get a fish on. I like circle hooks because my hook up ratio is much better. Years ago we would run them at dusk and check them every 2 hours. We would sit in the truck or pup tent and drink bear all night. By morning we would have plenty of catfish in the cooler. It's the most relaxing way to fish for sure..

Brings back great memories. When I was a kid I loved running jugs with dad. We had probably 25 of the old quart size Clorox bottles with maybe 7 to 10 ft of line and a heavy split shot. We'd use shad or night crawlers, depending on which was easier to get. We'd drift them in medium current on a river flat and load the cooler with eating size catfish. We'd host a fish fry about once a year and cook them and any crappie we caught earlier in the spring. Loads of fun.

@@CATCHAHAWG Just long enough for the bream to swim below the surface of the water, the pvc poles are at a 45% angle in the rod holder. The poles are flexible enough but hold enough tension to keep pressure on the fish, if the leader is to long the fish will break off on the pier pillings.
