CATCHAHAWG teaches you how to catch more Crappie, Catfish, and Bass. I have been a full time Lake Fork Guide since February 1996 and I want to share with you my fish catching secrets that I have accumulated after all these years on the lake. Lake Fork is known all over the world for it’s trophy bass fishing. However, Lake Fork is full of giant crappie, blue catfish and flathead catfish. On this channel we are going to teach you the techniques that I as a Lake Fork Guide use to catch these species. Hey Jeff thanks a bunch for watching. Yeah those crappies are on the move. I talked with a guy who caught some shallow two weeks ago. If they aren’t starting yet they will be soon for sure 👍

Thank you Dave. I can’t remember the last time I bass fished in a pond before this trip. I’m definitely going to try to do more.

friends like yours are good to have. most landowners wont let folks fish thier ponds nowdays..in central tx we have several corps of engineer lakes, but not many small tanks for the public to fish,, theres a few that are accessible on the ft cavasos army base but other than that not much else..

Yes sir I was fortunate to get invited to go fish with them. There’s sure not very many small lakes or ponds around that let folks go in this area either. We do however have some parks nearby that have some places to fish. I may look into going to them this year. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍

@@CATCHAHAWG yes it has always been kind of sore spot with me as big as texas is, that there not alot of public lands for people to go recreate on.. you gotta know a guy, or buy a place.. 90 percent of texas is privately owned.. also trespassing laws can get you locked up, so if your not sure if a place is public, dont go, because theres a 90 percent chance its privately owned. yes texas has national parks, big bend , ect but its so restricted you cant hardly do anything but walk, camp and take pics.. we have a park near me that was donated to the state, mother neff.. it sits on the river, but the park doesnt allow anyone to go back there, because they claim it flooded and its full of trash,, theres not even a place to picnic.,,. the only thing you can do is camp at a paid campsite or walk around the park..

@@randy1ization If you ever make it over to East Texas there’s a bunch of small lakes and parks with ponds that the public can fish. Also, the parks and wildlife website has a big long list of ponds that they stock that are open to the public. They may all be on the eastern part of the state though I’m not sure.

I always catch and release but I was wondering if I am catching only dinks from my lake, should I be harvesting some? People are always asking me to bring them home some fish but I am so brainwashed to let them go.

That’s what we do around here. Some of the small lakes can get too many small fish in them. It’s always good to harvest some especially if it’s a place where no one else does. Thank you Ally for the comment 👍
