Hey all. This channel is for all of us who love music, guitars and gear. I'm by no means a pro or an expert I'm just a Guitar Hack. My hope is to build a community of players and music lovers regardless of ability or musical taste who love to play or just listen to music so that we can share information, ideas, and our passion for music.
Cheers

1. Rocks 2. Pump 3. Toys 4. Get Your Wings 5. Permanent Vacation
Both are good, but Blizzard and Diary are better, in my opinion. I was like 14/15 then, and Ozzy VS Dio was a big thing, and I was always an Ozzy guy. Still saw Sabbath on both these tours though and they were great.
Crack the sky debut
For me, Mob Rules edges out Heaven & Hell just by a hair. Two fantastic albums.
Mob Rules might be better song by song and sound wise but I’d have to give it to H&H as my two favorite Sabbath songs period - Neon Knights and Heaven and Hell appear on it
I have always rated highly ‘Over And Over’ and Ronnie’s vocals are filled with emotion.. I don’t know if Ronnie is singing about Depression/Mental Health. Of course the band bring-it too. The fillers for me are : Walk Away,Lady Evil,Slipping Away & Country Girl. That’s what cassettes were invented for back in the day.. home compilations etc
Thanks Hack. Fair review! 🤘🏼
Anacrusis - Manic Impressions
Heaven & Earth-Hard to Kill. The only protege that Blackmore has ever produced.
Trevor Rabin - Rio
I highly suggest checking out one my Top 5 favorites of new 2024 albums (so far): Guenna - "Peak of Jin'Arrah"
This one’s not for me. There was one song that wasn’t to bad, but I’ll likely never hear it again. Enjoyed watching
I prefer Mob Rules slightly over Heaven. Mob feels a bit heavier.
1. Quadrophenia. 2. Tommy. 3. Who's Next. 4. The Who Sell Out. 5. Who Are You.
Heaven and Hell by a hair.
Agree they are my favorite tonull albums by Black Sabbath hands down
interesting how varied the top 5 albums are - not just in this video but other “genesis albums ranked” on youtube; i think a lot has to do with the significant changes they made throughout the years (addition of phil collins, steve hackett after the first two albums, the departure of peter gabriel, departure of steve hackett, etc) it’s hard for me to nail down the right order. peter gabriel added such a theatrical flair, especially in lamb lies down; but i would say the seconds out version of suppers ready is superior to the original and other live performances of it. the climax is just perfect in the seconds out version, primarily with how the drum component is executed
1. Sheer Heart Attack 2. Queen II 3. A Night at the Opera. 4. Queen. 5. A Day at the Races.
I love Over and over.
It’s spooky hack you got your second firebird I got mine the same week exactly the same with this 😂am not copying you honestly 😂I a love mine position 2 pulled out is the best for me but am really impressed with it all .great guitar 👌👌
Crazy coincidence. Lol
Hey Hack nice guitar. I bought one of the previous versions, the RS420. Not got the stainless steel frets or weight relief, but for the money, a great playing and sounding guitar. Cheers
My Top 10: 1. Sabotage 2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 3. Master of Reality 4. Black Sabbath 5. Volume IV 6. Heaven And Hell 7. The Eternal Idol 8. Technical Ecstasy 9. Mob Rules 10. Thirteen
Wishing well is a great song to me. Very much liek Dio material. great melodies, aught in the mdle style. walk away is not great.
Can't remember you having a White guitar previously VERY KOOL, nice sounds and you hear a difference when pull out the tone knob. GOOD review HACK !!!
Never Say Die( the song)was basically Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back in Town . Dumbed down and added distortion, easier to play Never Say Die, but basically the same chord progressions key wise
Mob Rules doesn't contain any of the goofy 1970s Honky Tonk Boogie tracks like Lady Evil, Wishing Well, Lonely is the Word, and the extremely outdated Walk Away ( Ronnie's last attempt at keeping the spirit of Elf alive). Plus there is nothing as menacingly Heavy as Voodoo, Country Girl, and Sign of the Southern Cross on Heaven and Hell. But Children of the Sea ,Die Young, Neon Knights, and Heaven and Hell were just better songs than anything on Mob Rules. Mob Rules is arguably Black Sabbath's Heaviest album. I listened to it back to back with Born Again, and Mob Rules just decimated Born Again in pure power and driving Heavy rhythms. Dio just delivered a louder harsher Voice than Ian Gillan's whiny delivery. I liked Ian's Voice with Deep Purple, and his solo band, but other than his high screaming sections he sounded weak and whiny with Black Sabbath. Maybe he was trying to sound more like Ozzy Osbourne.
MY LIST BEST TO WORST: 1) Van Halen I 2) 1984 3) Fair Warning 4) Van Halen II 5) Women & Children First 6) A Different Kind of Truth 7) OU812 8) Diver Down 9) For Unlawful Carnel Knowledge 10) 5150 11) Van Halen III 12) Balance Best songs: 1) In A Simple Rhyme - W & C First (This is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE) 2) Mean Street - Fair Warning 3) Girl Gone Bad - 1984 4) I'm The One - VH I 5) Hear About It Later - Fair Warning 6) Light Up The Sky - VH II 7) House of Pain - 1984 8) Running With The Devil - VH I 9) Everybody Wants Some - W & C First 10) DOA - VH II 11) Dirty Movies - Fair Warning 12) Little Dreamer - VH I 13) Secrets - Diver Down 14) Hang Em High - Diver Down 15) Runaround - FUCK 16) Beautiful Girls - VH II 17) I'll Wait -1984' 18) You Really Got Me - VH I 19) And The Cradle Will Rock - W & C First 20) Feel Your Love Tonight - VH I
Beauty eh!
Mob Rules😈🤘
Martin Pop-Off has a point, can you really call a band your "Favourite" when they've had so many line up changes??? WHIXH band exactly. Which is why my no 1 is Led Zeppelin and no 2 Rush.
anyway, for Sabbath the top ten is obvious ; The first six Ozzy albums and the first two Dio albums. Never say die and Technical ecstasy are poor Ozzy albums and the rest do not even sound like Black Sabbath.
If Mob Rules was recorded first….everyone would say it was by far the better album
Triumph is in my top 5 bands all time. No bad albums. Here’s my list: 1 Allied Forces 2 Just A Game 3 Never Surrender 4 Progressions Of Power 5 Rock N Roll Machine 6 Thunder Seven 7 Sport Of Kings 8 Triumph debut ( Beginnings) 9 Edge Of Excess 10 Surveillance
Although both are brilliant, I prefer Mob Rules, for two reasons. I think the production is better and there are no weaker tracks.
Led Zep 2. At 8 ? Sheesh
Mob Rules is strong, gets better with age, Heaven and Hell is one of the greatest albums ever made, imho.
Im.convinced Voodoo and Sign of the southern cross were written by the Devil
Mob rules I like every song
Heaven and Hell. I bought both albums, in 1980 and ‘81 respectively, and while both are excellent H&H is my preference of the two.
Great discussion about Black 🖤 Sabbath Riff Worship 🙏 and Dio .. i purchased both remastered and remixed records with the seperate Double live album and fits this little pocket of some of the BEST Black Sabbath albums back to Back again 😃👍
Entangled too long? You gotta be kidding. If there ever was a song that is the perfect length, it's every song on this album, especially Entangled. That instrumental coda would be too long if they went another round with it, and way too short if they cut out that last round where the bass pedals gloriously takes your attention to heaven. So, just like Mad Man Moon, Dance On A Volcano, and the title track just perfect length. Robbery Assault And Battery might be too long for its own good, but I might be biased because it's my least favorite and everything else are great songs.
Mob Rules is a 10, one of the best metal albums ever made. Deep tracks like Slipping Away, Country Girl and Voodoo are incredible. Heaven and Hell is an 8, Wishing Well and Walk Away are not bad but definitely a step down from the rest of the album.
Like Pete I have been debating these two albums for years it's almost like choosing between two kids lol.....I have to say heaven and hell only because of how I felt for the first time I heard neon knights come out of my speakers OMG i couldn't believe it. Black Sabbath is my favorite band of all time and to get a singer like DIO come in to replace Ozzy, WOW amazing stuff. Great episode, thank you from Georgetown Ontario.
Way late to the party but here ya go 9. Coda 8. Presence 7. In Through The Outdoor 6. IV 5. I 4. II 3. Houses Of The Holy 2. Physical Grafiti 1. III
In recent years, about the last 10 - 15, Mob Rules is the one I return to more often than not of the two. And maybe this is because I played the hell out of H&H since the late 80s. I certainly played it a lot more than Mob Rules. If push came to shove then I'd sway with Mob Rules of the two, but it is almost unfair to make a choice, both are incredible, even the songs you guys don't like I like. I just can't fault these two albums. Country Girl has a Wicker Man vibe about it to me, the Geezer and Tony dual soloing on Slipping Away, "AH COME ON" that Dio screams on MB... I could go on, great album. Great albums.
Mob Rules has no weak moments, but Heaven and Hell has Walk Away. Mob Rules also has the better production.
Wishing Well is my favorite track out of anything on both albums. I will never understand why people don't like it.
I was at the Monsters Of Rock Festival that inspired And The Bands Played On. Denim And Leather is always my number 1.
If you haven’t done it already, now you have to do Blizzard vs. Diary.
Mob Rules
My top 7: 7. Goats Head Soup 6. Metamorphisis 5. A Bigger Bang (2005) 4. Sticky Fingers (1971) 3. Tattoo You (1981) 2. Let It Bleed (1969) 1. Beggars Banquet (1968) My top 5 WORST Stones albums" 5. Steel Wheels 4. Decembers Children 3. Dirty Work 2. Black & Blue 1. Its Only Rock & Roll
1. Virgin Killer 2. Taken By Force 3. In Trance 4. Lovedrive 5. Fly to the Rainbow
HEAVEN AND HELL is the best album DIO/RAINBOW.....NEVER made....its good but NOT heavy enough for SABBATH....MOB RULES has that dark satanic gypsy vibe....
