  Okay for everyone asking, theres a few reasons people want leggings that go over their skates: 1. Long leggings can keep laces in place and prevent hazards 2. That little gap is quite often cold as sh*t not to mention, the perfect way to cut your ankles if you accidentally catch it 3. It produces cleaner lines and looks cute as heck. The same way ballerinas have idea lines that are made clearer by pink tights and leo combo, long ahh leggings make the legs longer and allows for more smooth lines

  I think I figure skating no different as adult free skating when the rink is open for free skate and you see many adults going to skate too, so what’s the difference?

  Flared leggings work great! I personally just put my socks over my boot, as I don’t use flared leggings (I have friends who adore them though)

  Not a skater but I'm assuming it's and asthetics thing similar to ballet where dancers have skin toned shoes and sew their shoes to their tights to create a more seamless line from head to toe

  Guys the leggings going over the skates are purely just for cosmetic reasons. It looks nicer and cleaner with them over the skate.

  for aesthetic reasons: skaters do this is because some like the way the leggings elongate their legs or don’t like the feeling of leggings inside their skates. for practical reasons: this also reduces the risk of laces from getting stuck together when doing spins and prevents ice from getting inside their skates.

  For everyone asking why they need to cover the skates and not getting an answer, it’s so the laces stay secure and don’t unlace or get caught in the blades (Ty Google 😋)

  For everyone wondering why it looks better and keeps your laces from getting your way or a possible trip. This is a great idea. I just get my dads really thick socks and bring them over my laces .

  Girl thank you for this I’m so pale and the mondor and Chloe Noel tights never match my shade! About the tights being thin, I would wear another pair of tights underneath, maybe even the warm bamboo ones.

  I used to have this problem until I figured out that I could just put both my socks (those long skating socks made from tights material) and my leggings over my skates!
