Studio session people. Ringo’s vocals. So saying John Paul or George anything on this, reread it.

I’ve been trying to replicate George’s technique on this song for years now . This song taught me a valuable lesson really helped me graduate from amateur to intermediate. Along with johns powerful rhythm keeping it solid throughout the whole gig is wild .what talented lads they were / still are ! Beatles on top forever!

She was called a scarlet woman by the people Who would go to church but left me in the streets With no parents of my own I never had a home And a eighteen year old boy has got to eat She found me outside one Sunday morning Begging money from a man I didn't know She took me in and wiped away my childhood A woman of the streets this lady Rose This bed of Rose's that I lay on where I was taught to be a man This bed of Rose's where I'm living is the only kind of life I'll understand She was a handsome woman just thirty-five who was spoken to in town by very few She managed a late evening business like most of the town wished they could do I learned all the things that a man should know From a woman not approved of I suppose She died knowing someone really loved her from life's bramble bush I picked a rose This bed of Rose's This bed of Rose's

Suspect Stein's trebly single note guitar part is presented here in with synth section (where he's doubling a synth part). He talks about it in his just released book, having to stop start record to keep the roland space echo he was playing through in time with track

What fun! Thanks for creating this. I wonder why people consider George's middle part difficult? It's actually pretty standard harmony, one third above the tonic. Huh, it just struck me that not only is it quite melodic, it's quite like George's "Do You Wanna Know a Secret" from the previous year! George's voice is such a good match to John's, too--similarly intense, focused in the mask, slightly nasal. Paul here adds a gentler rounder sound that softens the ensemble, keeps them from sounding _too_ whiny! He's so good with counterpoint, too. I love the grace notes/embellishments they both add to their lines. Always tasteful and don't draw you away from the melody. (I'm greedy: the bridge is so wonderful, I'd love to hear that too!)

Just a lil disappointed for I wanted to be John the whole song. Why not the whole song!? P +G still do the backing vocals, when he sings loudly 'Oh and this boy... would be happy' etc But just to hear them is still fab!
