POWER voice. There’s grit, tenderness, intense devotion and yearning. Strong, resonant and full of heart and soul. All in one take. Crazy talent…

His voice was so much better at that time than in the mid 60s.

It’s insane how such a crazy amount of talent was captured in just one band…

The voice crack at 2:32 is just so emotionally beautiful. You can really hear the devotion…

No matter how much he smoked his voice remained remarkably in tact right up until the very end. A higher power was always with him…

I have listened to this song several hundreds of times since it first came out in 1970-71 What you have done with this isolation confirms what i always heard After the guitar solo and he starts to sing with Hare Krishna mantra as response you can hear in his voice intense emotion for Krishna As a Hare Krishna myself since 1973 i listen carefully to HOW someone sings and this vocal has what is called “bhakti-bhava” or genuine love and devotion to GOD/Krishna thank you so much for this isolated vocal You will be blessed eternally because of this post OM TAT SAT

Suppisedy, one of those backing vocals is producer Phil Spector himself. The rest are all George.
