Which model of the shoe would you recommend, leather or microfiber? Deciding between the two for endurance gravel racing here in the US. Cheers!

.... And I wouldn't bother with a 'Classified' rear hub.... my mate's got one.... He wish it hadn't.

I have this bike - in the same colour.... Unfortunately, I've still got it.... had a few problems with it...firstly, it looks great and is a head turner, and is (for me) very comfy to ride.... However, the built quality is really poor.... Had so many issues with the headset coming loose after any off road gravel stuff. The cap is plastic and if you try to tighten it.... it cracks!! SO, it never gets really secure - very poor (had to order a couple of new head tube caps - An absolute pain) Secondly, with regard to the mudguards... I purchased Ridley's own brand to fit the bike..... only problem is that the thread on the front fork is useless and the bolt sheared off - can't fit them now! Lastly I had a problem with the extractor bolt on the crank set.... it came off!! No idea when! Was cleaning it one day and noticed it had gone!. Checked photos I took after first couple of rides - it was there.... then just came off at some point... No idea where.... Obviously it was never fitted correctly. LBS sorted it after ordering replacements from SRAM... However, had a dreadful going on with 2pedalz who sold me the bike... Just dreadful to deal with - never get hold of them, staff always promising the main man would ring back - he never did.... problems not their fault etc etc. Buying this bike was a bad decision - (and I've not touched on the terrible problem I had with the order process! All sorts of unbelievable excuses on why my order was late... From 'Classified' pinched my order from the factory for a demo day to 'someone has lost it in the Ridley new factory!! - 2 months late and lots os waffle and made up stories....) Should have avoided the bike and avoided 2Pedalz and purchased a Canyon gravel bike - better value for money, better quality and a better all round bike! Simples!

why would you want to relax below the belly button? That would be disengaging your core, which should be stabilising your hips and spine

Wing tape or hinge tape from the RC glider/aeroplane world is a much nicer finish than electrical tape. Wing tape comes in many colours, hinge tape is clear. RC helicopter main blade balancing tape is also a good option over e-tape. E-tape is a povo option for a sweet finish on a nice bike.

Some of us have extra wide feet. I'm betting that this so-called wide shoe would squish my feet and chafe my toes. You don't mention what width you wear (or should wear). I have some older "wide" Lake shoes and they're uncomfortable. It's sad that this modestly wide shoe is all the industry offers.

am i understanding this properly? the bike is too big - he needs better hip mobility to get lower and able to reach farther ahead (when he was told to relax he barely moved down) and having a shorter stem would help mitigate some issue of the bike being too long he can't raise the seat and straighten out his leg much more so he'd have to get shorter crank? what about seat forward? will that throw off his knee alignment during gait of his movement?

Electrical tape doesn't sit very well and often comes off over time. Use cloth tape to have it stick better and feels better on your hands!

Needs to be higher right …. He has to be parallel with the ground when he reaches for the handle bars. If he isn’t in super man position, then it’s too low

I'm thinking about this model or Lake MXZ304, does anyone know the major differences between those ? Aside of low temperature, I need my shoes to be also 99% waterproof, so I could also use those in case of wet winter conditions balancing between 1 and -3, heavily raining weather. Sometimes at the beginning of my routes it rains, and at the end in the evening it gets really cold so my shoes needs to fit for those situations. I really highly appreciate your reviews 🫶🏻

Do not tear your tape, but cut it. If you tear, you make the tape longer and thinner, which reduces its adhesive strength.

Hi Dougie, I'm Iooking for a MTB clipped shoe in a wide model, stiff sole, cleat mount for aggressive riding/jumping, if you have recommendations on a shoe you have in stock in 43.5 or 44 in Lake or other brands I'll check them out and order. Favorite shoe to date is the Specialized clip lite 2FO ~ 2019 which has a much stiffer sole than the newer 2FO models. Cheers, Jim
