Lake CX201 Cycling Shoe Technical Review Video by Dougie Shaw at the Edinburgh Bike Fitting Shop.

Спорт

The Lake CX201 is Lakes' first shoe featuring the comfort plus last. The shoe has many features that make it very appealing to extra high foot volumes and people looking for a barefoot feel. The Nufoam upper adds in extra ventilation so be sure to factor this in for those of you looking to ride this year-round - or consider the MXZ120 winter boot featuring the exact same shape and last.
Forgot to mention if you keep an eye on the closure you notice there are panels in the microfibre around the tongue which add to the shoe's ability to encapsulate a large volume of ankle and midfoot.
Use cases here are bunions swollen feet and ankles or folks looking for a wide shoe similar to barefoot shoes.
The mesh upper gives a lot of ventilation making this shoe fantastic for indoor use such as on a peloton bike.

I ordered a pair and despite following lake's sizing instructions, found them to be just a bit shy of true length. I am currently in the process of exchanging from a size 48 to a size 49. The width was spot on and the wide footbed was instantly noticeable. I currently use a pair of Sidi Ergo Carbon Megas in size 48. A nice shoe to be sure, but more high volume than wide. The Sidi soles are much stiffer, but the Lakes have air vents on the sole, plus the mesh toebox, so I'm certain my feet will more comfortable with more ventilation and room. I do wish the Lakes had a double BOA tightening system, but this is a minor gripe. Obviously, I can speak to their durability, but wished to give my initial $0.02 for anyone else looking. I am very eager to try these shoes over the long term as I genuinely believe these will become an instant favorite.

What would be the gravel / MTB equivalent of the CX 201?
