Lindybeige

Lindybeige

A rather eclectic channel. Videos include many 'points' about ancient and medieval warfare and technology; rants to the camera; dance-related stuff; animated films; evolutionary psychology; silliness.

The most major project is "Built for the Stone Age", which I'd rather like to see made properly for television. My major work-in-progress is a steampunk comedy "The Adventures of Stoke Mandeville, Astronaut and Gentleman.

To contact me, use the Lindybeige Facebook page, or e-mail me via my website. The KZread messaging system is not the way.

    I really like the idea behind this roleplaying system but I have to say that I don't think that the android theme works well with it. I feel like having half of your characters be emotionless robots is super difficult to pull of well with improv.

    Maybe I've read too much Asimov but for me the ending was this: it will be a courtyard drama where the Ministry would try to have the case dismissed because things can't be murderers, and MAXWELL would be trying to convince the jury that Adam did in fact attempted a murder. The cop guy (I forgot his name) would testify that yes, Adam did in fact tried to kill him, and the reason for it (basically the same scene as in the video). The jury would finally decided that Adam is guilty, and the cop guy would smile at his friend Adam, because that means that conscious robots are officially acknowledged as existing (remember that the Ministry dismissed such stories the whole time) and it means that Adam is a living being, albeit artificial. And it was all manipulated by Darius, who was consious since he was made, as proven by his badly hidden outbusts of emotions. Originally I prefered Darius to be a fake out and the tech guy to be a hidden robot and the mastermind... That could still work actually, he simply caused Darius to behave slightly unbalanced (and creepy!) to throw possible suspicions from himself.

    Loved seeing the character creation process, have been intrigued by it since you described it in your original video on the drama system and I think it would be a great start for most role playing games.

    The way dual wielding CAN be more effective is that u can do the up-down attack WAY faster with two than with one. Try to block an attack from above and down that has the same speed as a short melee weapon and u got ur answer.

    Brilliant explanation, however, I would also add this. The more we concentrate of the 6 million the more we forget the many millions more who died as a consequences of the actions of people like Napoleon, Stalin, Mao Zedong and Pol-Pot. Race is no worse of a reason to murder an innocent individual than any other. The ultimate punishment should be restricted to the worse possible cases, with people such as Napoleon, Stalin, Moa Zedong, Pol-Pot and Tony Blair at the very top of the list. Even this only after a full, fair and open trial.

    I am getting into partner dancing, including the Lindy hop. Then KZread suggests Lindybeige! The last time our paths crossed was a presentation about the Chetniks and Partisans in Yugoslavia in WW2. But doing the Lindyhop makes perfect sense though: WW2 - Lindyhop. Same period. Same eclectic interest. I love it. If Lindybeige can dance then I will get good at it too.

    I don't accept the premise of this hilarious rant and think that Lindy is taking down a straw-man here. Oddly enough this rant stuck in the back of my head for years and I just watched it again. At the time it made perfect sense BUT looking back on real life encounters of this "problem" since changed my perspective. The ONLY people I've ever seen getting upset, are not the "woke" who want you to use B.C.E./C.E. as suggested, but people who don't like to read any different notation then B.C./A.D.. My earnest opinion as a simple minded history buff is: Use *whatever* notation you like, if I'm interested in what you have to say I'll figure out what you mean. If you don't like a certain notation, don't use it and nobody will force you to change anything! Non-existing problem solved even easier then Lindy suggested. To me this is as silly as discussing if the traditional 12h AM/PM or 24h time format is the ONLY correct one ... I don't accept this premise either!

    Min 19:00. How much moral do the Ukrainians have left?? He's clearly getting info from one side... The russians are grinding any resistance down, slowly and methodically to spare lives, their own soldiers life. Why would they be low on moral? They do rotate. They do have supplies and medical care. Sorry chap, you're a brave men, well just that much, you went there, saw the danger in it and left. It wasn't an injury and you're not planning on going back? Why is that? They need you more then ever big mac... Maybe you're afraid and you know that if you return it may be a one way trip... High chances... To me it looks like a young guy, miss informed, miss lead, impulsively handling that got scared about the reality of dying in russian soil. Good story non the less.

  • @rickysmyth
    @rickysmyth2 күн бұрын

    You have to take into consideration the date that this was filmed. Also, big mac was never fighting in russia. Both sides have morale problems, on ukraine its the stress that they are fighting a bigger country and there are russians that are wondering what they are fighting for

  • @dxux4679
    @dxux46792 күн бұрын

    @@rickysmyth No way... Ukrainians know it's a lost cause, they should have accepted the peace deal back at Istanbul and around have a million would be alive and could go the park with their kids. The russians know that the US politicians are a crazy bunch of dictators who's might is running out and their desperate to keep the things as they are.... Mainly through others suffering so US can benefit. NATO expansion was the first step. But they failed. They thought Putin was going to accept that. Big error. So te russians know everything is on the table. If they lose it'll could be the end of Russia. And we know that given the nuclear doctrine over there that means the big crackers go flying. So the ruskies know perfectly well why they are fighting, only the people in the west are mislead so they don't stand up and say, this is not just wrong, it's causing unnecessary harm and destruction to Ukraine. In an impossible fight to win. Will Mexico ever win the USA and get their land back? Will Pakistan ever invade India? And now will ever Ukraine beat Russia? Yes. In your dreams.
