"The Stokes"? Who and what are they? What have they ever accomplished besides "stoking" themselves? They need practice their music more than "stroking" off and blowing each other, so much in a loser - zero hit anonymous - most likely - queer band called "the Stokes". HA, HA

And NONE of them came within millions of the Beatles in terms of popularity or recognition. CLOWNS EVERY ONE OF THEM. Quincy Jones was just a jealous loser bastard and Lou reed was a deranged kosher kwear. The others are largely "unknown" loud mouthed band members of overhyped "one hit or no hit wonder" groups.

He never said he hated Pink Floyd. He didn't care much for Syd Barrett, but then neither did his own bandmates after a time. In August 1970, Jimi referred to Pink Floyd as "the mad scientists of this day and age," even suggesting his own style might go in a similar direction to what they were doing. This was, of course, after Gilmour replaced Syd and added a balance of musical legitimacy to their sound. It's really a shame Jimi never lived to hear Dark Side.

My wife turned me on to "Seeds of Memory" after it was included in The Devil's Rejects soundtrack. I never followed up to see his history, and I'm amazed, but not surprised, that he turned down 2 of the biggest bands in rock history. Deep Purple has been my favorite band for 50 years and I never read or heard about Terry being asked to join. Paul Rogers is the guy that's always mentioned.
