    I am not sure why the narrator knocks "Presence" & "In Though The Out Door" when they were excellent releases. There was no internal strife going on leading up those two releases. In Through The Out Door was an excellent way to go out. Almost every song on that release is excellent and it covers a lot of different styles. I can sort of see why people knock Presence because it didn't do well commercially, but rating an album by commercial success is not how most fans rate albums. Presence had "Nobody's Fault But Mine" & "Achilles Last Stand" and both are great epic Led Zeppelin songs. The narrator knows nothing about Led Zeppelin & Plant wasn't calling out Jimmy Page with the lyrics on those songs. This guy doesn't have a clue!

    I forget where I read it but I read a comment supposedly made by the band's manager Peter Grant directed at Robert Plant. Not sure what the actual disagreement or problem was but Grant found himself having to remind Plant, "this isn't your band". Grant saw Led Zeppelin as Jimmy Page probably did too. It was still Jimmy's band. He started the idea. He was the KNOWN player at the beginning who had assembled the players and direction. My best guess? It's tough to make a decision to LEAVE the biggest band in the world but when John Bonham died a realignment and the idea that Led Zeppelin was seen as a bit of a Dinosaur in a world dominated by DIsco on the pop charts and New Wave on the FM dial gave Plant the kick in the pants he required to finally call it day and move on. Robert Plant saw an opportunity to go his own way and form a band where he got to call the shots......all the shots and direction. The 1980s were actually pretty great years for Robert Plant. For Led Zepplin fans it was tough to accept the band was gone but I'm betting Robert Plant was much happier for it.

    This is a load of crap, obviously manufactured for the sole purpose of getting people to click on the link. A few weeks after John Bonham's death, the band released a press statement on December 4, 1980, saying, "We wish it to be known that the loss of our dear friend, and the deep sense of undivided harmony felt by ourselves and our manager, have led us to decide that we could not continue as we were." This statement specifically highlights the band's undivided harmony and makes clear that Bonzo's death was the sole reason for group's disbandment. To say that "fading solidarity" and "eventual fracturing" led to the group's disbandment is disingenuous at best and arguably downright dishonest.

    Better learn a bit more history on the Mighty Zeppelin, start with John Paul Jones and his extreme dissatisfaction with the other band mates , and the lack of respect Robert got after loosing his son . 🫤 Believe what you will but your comment is highly misleading and outright incorrect 🫡

    @brentwerley6762

    I get what you're saying, and in very concrete terms, it's accurate. What was to continue may not have been so pretty though. Plant became disenchanted in part because of the lack of emotional support from both Page and Jones when he lost his son, Karac. Musically he was also continuing to move in a different direction which seemed to continue as a natural evolution in his solo work (although maybe not as divergent as he liked to tell himself, when you look at some of his earlier musicians). The band was becoming "outdated" musically, and it's quite possible Van Halen was going to overshadow them on their own rise. Jones had always stayed away from the harder drug scene, and Plant had put down cocaine for good in 1977, possibly after he lost his son. Who knows what may have been, but it was moving more towards a lack of harmony; what is seldom talked about is Page getting Bonham into heroin as well.

    Drugs have ripped a lot of bands apart. Zeppelin were the single greatest hard rock band of all time. Period. I believe they might have went on an extended hiatus even if Bonzo had lived. Musical landscapes were changing. Music was changing. They might have eventually gotten back together anyhow after a break. We'll never know. Just appreciate the greatness. The influence. 2:15 funniest part of this story to me is that Page thought Plant must be difficult or something because he wasn’t already a star😆. Plant hadn’t yet turned 20 yet at the time. Shows you how fast the music scene changed in the 1960s, especially in London, that if you weren’t already a star at 20 you must be a bum. “Don’t trust anyone over 30” and all. Page himself was already a big deal within the record biz and a music insider by that age. Clapton, Brian Wilson, Steve Winwood, most members of bands like the Who, Kinks, and Stones were already big deals by that age to people in the business if not the general public. I guess that’s just how he saw it.

    Sounds like someone trying to cash in, as well as too young to comment, considering it was 45 years ago LZ's last true LP was released. Presence & In Through the Out Door were disappointments when compared to Physical Graffiti. They lacked soul and the normal magic associated with LZ, and even though most are nearing their end, its good for those who grew up listening to them, yet sad, to know the mysteries of their past and why they stopped.
