"Not one explanation for trails that linger and expand,.." It is explained perfectly well - you are just too ignorant to understand. You can find the explanation in about 100 posts in this section. It may help you if you look up "supercooling", "sublimation/deposition", "relative humidity", "cirrus clouds". A nice practical demonstration in video "click heat science".

Boeing is very pilot minded... yeah they actually really on the pilots to compensate for their design failures and issues. The pilot should be the last line of defense. But today Boeing just builds faulty airplanes and lets the pilots to deal with them. There are several cases reporting that. Airbus planes are the pilots best friends, Boeings are like the monster lurking in the dark waiting to attack.

In the 1980 and 1990 s I spent lots of time watching jets pass over my head never leaving or creating clouds. The contrails is all I ever saw. They would disappear once they left one or two lengths of the jet behind it. Then we started to see these clouds creating mor and more. You can record a perfect blue sky then watch a grid created within 30 min that will block out the blue sky with a grey sky. It’s daily now and blue sky’s only happen or we’re allowed during covid.
