    I just got the parts needed to experiment with closed transfers, and how to add fining agents was a question that had just occurred to me. Here's the answer before I even got a chance to ask!

    Nice, innovative and needed accessory! Your site currently says for 15 and 22 gallon kettles. Is the 22 supposed to be 20? If so, I will be adding one of these decals for my 20 gallon kettle to my next BrewHardware order. Thanks Bobby!

    I just made my own with an airlock, some tubing and an old camping collapsible water container. Fill it with CO2 from the tank, then swap the airlock when cold crashing.

    I've got 12mm OD hose pipe fittings & 10mm OD fittings on a 3 Port Oil Catch Can & would 10mm OD Silicone Vacuum Hose will it Stretch over the 12mm OD hose pipe fittings that are on the PCV Valve & the other 2 12mm OD hose fittings one on the manifold & the other on the other rocker cover on a PT Cruiser as I have a Blow By Problem & having 3 Port Oil Catch with filter & I know that I don't have much room to put this 3 Port Oil Catch with filter but my son Brannon has a 3D Printer & he is going to make a special mounting bracket for me so I can mount this 3 Port Oil Catch Can with filter no problem at all & also has a drain tap at the bottom of the Catch Can Kind Regards Peter & I'm sure that 10mm 0D Silicon Vacuum Hose should Stretch over the 3 X 12mmOD Hose Fittings & had tried the vinyl clear rubber 10mm OD hose & managed to heat up the hose first from boiling water & then & force the hose over the 12mm OD hose pipe fitting & I did the the same way as you did Sir by putting the 12mm OD hose pipe fitting on an angle & turned the 10mm OD hose around & got it on the 12mm OD fitting & it was hard going but I got there & I'm sure the 10mm Silicone Vacuum Hose should stretch over the 12mm OD hose pipe fittings a lot easier than vinyl rubber clear hose

    I bottle with roughly 3 to 4 oz of priming sugar. Does the CO2 go into solution and if so does that create a potential over carbonation issue?

  • @brewhardware
    @brewhardware11 ай бұрын

    CO2 always goes into solution when the temp drops, but it's pretty minimal.

    Pulling through on a beer keg is a heck of a lot tougher than with a pot. I went with a 35mm hole and stretched to fit. (inner diameter of the ferrule). I will probably go 37mm next time around. Make sure you are using real wrenches (not adjustable) to tighten (adjustable will slip and round the nut) and you will likely need an extender bar if you aren't young and strong. I used the stainless pipe from inside the keg to give me the added leverage. Another hint. You can get long 1.5" ferrules. This gives you lots of meat both on the inside and outside.

    My brew kettle/pot doesn't have any openings whatsoever. It's just a stainless steel pot. I want to use the camlock fittings (based on his recommendations). Unfortunately I don't know where to begin! Do I need a bulkhead if I plan on using a camlock fitting? Also, what about the thermometer? I don't have one for my brew kettle, nor does my pot have an opening for it. Can someone please help me???

    I do a hacky version of this idea using a keg and a 2 gallon jug. Keg acting as bladder originally filled with startsan. This would be much easier to deal with and save me some $$ on starsan. I think this is going to be my next purchase.
