My whirlpool port (hole in the kettle) is at the bottom of my kettle. Can you make a shorter version of this SpinCycle so that I can install in the existing kettle hole with the drop portion (outflow) of the arm in the upright position? Maybe all that is needed is a 5 inch drop length rather than the 10", 12" or 14" drop lengths you already have?

Just curious if there is a reason why it is installed at the top of the pot with the long tube to the bottom? Does that make any difference? I would think it would make sense to have a small one installed at the bottom of the kettle???? No???

That's pretty cool. Question though, what's the purpose of having the tube be so long?

+Geoff Aumaugher To get it under the level of your smallest batch size. I don't know what people plan to do so it has to be adaptable. 5 gallon batch in a 20 gallon pot? Not ideal but sure!

Is a valve not needed on the port

Only if your liquid level gets within 1/2" of the bottom of the port. Otherwise it won't need a valve.
