  I’m an extremely slow reader because I get the urge to reread every word I don’t understand quite often, but what do you do when you don’t understand a word? Do you for example use the context for help

  if i don’t understand a word i’ll highlight it, search the definition & then write down the meaning of it in the margins of that page!

  I'm a 4th year education major and i just realized why when we read we almost always forget what the book is about! It's because reading is just 1 learning style. if you mix in other methods like graphics, listening to the audiobook or with sfx, discussing out loud, or creating things like drawings or mind maps, you’ll remember way more about the book. ^_^ Hope this helps!

  Since you’re getting into the Asian folklore slash East Asian fantasy genre now, I wanted to suggest two book series I’ve read recently and enjoyed!! They’re “Song of the Last Kingdom” duology by Amelie Wen Zhao and “The Celestial Kingdom” duology by Sue Lynn Tan 💕

  Reading is my everything, my escape from reality, something to do when I am bored, I always have loved it, lost interest somewhere (probably because it became really forced in school) but since 2018 I am back into it lol I just hate how I keep getting stuck in a reading slump lately.. 🥲 Videos like this make me want to pick up my book again and continue 🫶🏼

  Great video Jem 🥰😃 this vlog format is very unique and engaging 😍 I'm adding The Atlas Six into my "plan to read" list 🤩. 7:21 In my opinion, just because someone has personally experienced something doesn’t mean they can express that feeling effectively. While personal experience provides better understanding, being able to communicate it effectively to others in way that's intended is a separate skill, which goes to show how amazing a writer's skill is regardless of their personal experience on a subject matter they're writing and how great the human imagination can be 😯 I believe that reading is wonderful, but at the end of the day the most important thing is to enjoy it in your own way 🤗🤗. Everyone has their unique approach to books. Some people enjoy challenging themselves by reading as many pages as possible, while others prefer a more leisurely pace. So, to the fellow slow readers watching this video, don’t feel ashamed to enjoy books in the way that suits you best! 📚😊. But hey!! if you’re up for stepping out of your comfort zone, that’s awesome too, no need to feel bashful about trying new things 🌟 just do what you want to and could do really 🤭 p.s could you tell me your 5-star rating books please??? 🥺 I want to know!!

  I haven’t read this book but I’ve heard good things about called Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao. It’s an east asian inspired sci-fi fantasy book so maybe you would be interested in reading it!

  I am also someone who has a million hobbies and i keep trying more. I have ADHD and autism so i am both only functioning bc routine and a desperate hater of doing the same thing every day. So I have created a routine that gives me free time at different points of the day which i can use for any activity I want. So after i finish work, i have rest and afternoon activity time which will usually be reading, journalling, or watching youtube/YT shorts (i dont allow myself much time for binge watching so im okay with doing it in my rest time). Then i listen to my audiobook while i do productive things like the dishes, clean up the house, pack for the next day etc. then my partner cooks dinner and I either study, shower or (im just introducing this to my routine now) exercise while I wait. Then we watch something together while we eat, or I watch YT videos that inspire my creativity. Then i do my evening hobbies which are any mixture of creative hobbies and gaming. I usually go for 2-3 hobbies per night, and I get through about 4-6 hobbies a day depending on the day. Some days i get hyperfocused on one or two projects, some days I cant settle on anything and dip my toe into a bunch of things, sometimes I get overwhelmed by the decision fatigue and end up only doing one or two things. But i always have hobby time in my day, and I get to cycle through a whole load of different hobby ideas per week or month

  Woah, I was looking for a youtube channel that will inspire me and give me the motivation to try out new stuff this summer, and be that multiple hobbies kinda girl, and here u are... And btw, ab the Cruel Prince, I've read the trilogy earlier this year anddd lemme tell u that I myself didn't like the first book that much, i bet i gave it 3 stars as well, but trust me, it gets way better with the second book "The Wicked King" and the 3rd "The Queen Of Nothing", I gave the whole serie a 4 stars, plus, there is definitly more romance in those last 2 books

  your thoughts on the cruel prince is so valid! its definitely HEAVILY marketed and talked about for the “enemies to lovers” aspect, which is sort of a side plot i’d say. i would say the politics and plot generally gets decreased in the other books, it definitely feels less plot heavy in the third book, but im only halfway thru it.

  The Atlas Six was a bit of an odd book, I personally enjoyed it but I know a lot of people didn't. Just in case you don't/didn't enjoy it I want to say that the second book is SO much better and it really just delivers the way I wanted the first book to. So if you didn't like it much the second book is still worth a try and if you did like it you'll still like the second book too! <3
