Awww thank u this is so sweet 🥺
i don't think you understand how much i needed this. i've been on break and I've realized that breaks are the worst for me because i have nothing to do and just am alone with my thoughts, and then I go through a downward spiral of toxic/negative thoughts and just ruins my break.
You’re good at this whole mind-reading thing aren’t you?😅
i like how you're giving the perspective of someone who feels "stuck" in an overthinking mindset. most advice vids tell us to slow down and not be so busy but i have the opposite problem and sometimes feel even worse. also love the fictional role model tip ive never heard of it sinc we're usually advised to pick someone in real life!
My fictional role model is Sophie Foster from Keeper of the Lost Cities series :D It's probably a pretty childish book for most of the people watching this podcast since I'm 13 but I really love how she's always persevering and how much she values friendships.

Thank you for making this video, it was perfect timing for me. Yesterday just wasn’t my day and I broke down because nothing was going right. I had never felt so upset towards myself. I felt like everything in my life was going out of control and I couldn’t do anything about it. Before I fell asleep, I kept telling myself that “There will be a better tomorrow”. I fell asleep and I swear I said it about 20 times. Best part was that it worked! Today was a better day. So to those that feel that today isn’t their day, know that it’s okay. It’s okay to cry about it and to feel what you feel. Tell yourself that you are okay, you did your best, you did what you could, and that there will be a better tomorrow 🤍🕊
I always stress about my future, what career path will i end up in, will i regret it, i always overthink about it and always end up feeling low and like a loser, but your videos helped alot ❤
your voice is so soothing! please please please make a podcast, I would listen to it everyday

I love this video so much. The other day I was thinking about the same thing. You might not realize that someone is insecure about something because they want to see something else. But we all don’t think about the same thing.
i pushed myself so hard and when summer came, i diddnt even get the satifaction i yearned and my first week of summer, wxhaustion and slight sickness hit. it wasnt a quick fix i thought, and thats why i realized i needed videos about this. you really do have to tackle problems at the root. a tree is helped by weeding, but if you dont tackle the rot, itll fall either way.
I've really been appreciating your videos as a student during the pandemic. Especially as I've had family issues that further contributed to pre-existing mental health issues that's made everything that I identify with (mainly, but not limited to, education-related motivation and perfect grades) slip in some capacity. I don't know, I haven't been reaching my pre-pandemic, pre-familial-issues standards and it's been really messing me up. Your calm demeanor has really helped me stop catastrophizing and prioritize my mental health. I don't know, your content has really helped me gain some perspective and stop spiraling about a future that's still very much secure despite the perceived "imperfections" I feel I've displayed throughout quarantine. thank you so much for that. stay safe and healthy
I have been so harsh on myself from a month and actually I was not gaining anything instead of stress and anxiety , my migrain was getting worser and worser . Today I talked to my mom and she told me to be just easy , she asked me to start exercising , limit my work on my to - do list like don't just plan 14 hour study when you are not going to do it and just stressing on not completing it instead make a 8 hour study schedule and in the spare time go on a walk , exercise , watch a series , make some frnds , go to market , enjoy your life and don't put pressure on yourself . Like if you thing that your work is gonna take 3 hours mark it as a 5 hour work on to- do list , bcz eventually you are going to do complete it in 4 hours but you will be immensed with the results and plan you whole week plan in future but don't just overdo it . And the most important thing just be happy and enjoy yourself Ps - hope it helps
Wow, Jem. I really needed this video. Definitely have been feeling harsh on myself lately. But I love your message about us being overly critical our ourselves of things that other people don't even notice. It's so easy to get consumed in that negative snowball thinking. I also agree that it can depend on the social media content we're consuming. I find that doing activities I love (my hobbies) helps tremendously in bringing presence instead of getting into that negative trail of thoughts. Beautiful video :)
This just the video I need. I love you so much Jem! You're so inspiring. 👑
Hey Jem, I just wanna say that I really enjoy your videos and I always look forward to watching them. You're a great person and I'm happy that you're talking and giving advice to help people. We all appreciate you❤️
I am so ready for this!! This is something I’ve been recently trying to get better at thank you :)
This popped up on my recommended and i could not be more glad. It helped my self esteem TREMENDOUSLY as i have been struggling with self love these past few weeks. ❤️
This video is honestly everything, this is a topic that I feel like everyone can relate to and we always have to remind ourselves not to stop judging ourselves so hard ❤️ Thank you Jem for this reminder/advice 🥰
ah please we want more podcasts like this one right here 🥲
hi jem! i just wanna say thank you for existing in my life 😭💗 was having a hard time today and this video literally made my day! you’re the best! 🥰🙌🏻 keep doing what you’re doing!
i love your videos so much they help me relax when i’m doing school work and they’re so entertaining
You're so soothing and calming. Thanks for the help! My fictional character that comes to mind is Eddie Munson from Stranger Things!! I love his fierce, passionate spirit, his playfulness, his lack of shame in saying how he feels, showing his sweetness and vulnerability despite his rough exterior, his bravery and his self awareness as he learns about himself. His devotion to his friends/his willingness to do what's right and have an adventure! Also, of course, that he is a rockstar type and I have dreams of being a rock star too, haha
Your voice is so calming and this video is definitely what I need rn 😔
im the type of subscriber who watches the best youtube video for the last and this definitely is a lovely video to end the night with . I love ur videos, and I super love your voice and the wisdom that you share. I also purchased the book u recommended, the 101 essays and im really thankful that I purchased it because its a very wholesome book even if I just read though it like a couple of times because i want to take it lightly for now . U mentioned about fictional role models, mine is Ben from The intern. I really love the values he has shown in that movie and apart from that he's practically one of the best role models for me that had inspired me. I enjoyed this video a lot, ur voice and shared ideas definitely helps me right now and I can't wait to hear from your podcasts and more videos to come✨. LOVE LOTS 💕
I loved this and needed it more than I wanted to admit 💚

4:56 I actually took a break from Facebook except I still use KZread😂 but I’m really glad I did it. It definitely refreshed my mind about things that I usually do ;I’m able to focus more on my studies and my health and all of that instead of procrastinating and scrolling through Facebook while studying on zoom or when I’m writing my lesson.
Your voice is what I've been seeking for a long time. I want to practice my listening skill but I gave up many times before because some voices make me tired. Hope that you will produce more video in the future.
i really appreciate you so much
Love your contents jem❣️
idkw but i feel extremely stressful, panicked, scared and sad these days. it feels like someone's squeezing my heart from day till night normally those feelings would disappear when i sleep and start a new day but sleeping doesn't work for me anymore. i wake up everday feeling as shit as before. ur calming voice and kinda similar struggles we've been through, helps me rn. thank you so much jem!

its hard to not do that when everyone around you is doing so well (at least better than you) while youre nowhere near
My role model, fictional, would be Meryl Streep's character on Devil wears Prada. I forgot her name. But the way that lady just commits to a goal, is just soo inspiring
i love your voice
My fictional Star Wars role models are: Padmé Amidala, Ahsoka Tano, Princess Leia Organa Solo, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Shaak Ti. As for non-Star wars: Peggy Carter (Marvel), Princess Jasmine, and Princess Belle. Ik my list sounds cheesy but they are all SUCH good characters…
Loved this video so much ♥️ you’ve personally helped me soo so much, thank you for these videos ♥️
Thank you
Thank you :)
I think for me, which I think would work for people who are being hard on themselves cause it worked for me is to do things from love not for love. That’s why people who are being hard on themselves are overthinking and overthinking and are afraid of what people might think. Like who cares ?? If you love what you’re doing then who cares fr ??
Can we just take a moment to thank god for giving her this beautiful face
Thank you so much for making this video! It’s really nice to hear that advice from you. Yesterday I was listening to your podcast (which btw YOU GUYS should check out: “Jem’s coffee shop”) and it really helped me. Istg y’all Jem gives good advice and she will help you drastically.
I literally thought you were in high school until you said "when I was in high school" :0 you’re glowing and look so much younger 😭
I would love to watch this at night 2:00am :))
Thank you for the video! 🙏 just out of curiosity what microphone do you use?
the fictional character bit really stuck with me because there's two characters from this anime that i watched that really stuck with me and now every time i need to deal with smth emotionally i'd ask myself how this character would deal with it and go from there
Jude Duarte from holly blacks TFOTA series. Badass brave warrior queen 👑
0:03 i love how the way you pull the mic 😏
Uncle Iroh from avatar is by far the best fictional role model.
i have so many fictional character role model but that also leads me to perfectionism 😭 cos they aren't real so I have to fit in that category if that makes sense
When I was growing up, my family always has prejudice on me. I have been changing to be the best version but my family isn’t. They often put negative thoughts on me. What should I do, I’m feeling so tired and doomed 😔
thank you!! what’s ur zodiac sign?
lets just take in the fact that there isn't a single dislike
