Power Addicts - FixJeeps

Jeeps, cars, and motorcycles are the main subjects of my channel. I do repair demonstrations such as how to test various sensors on my Jeep Wrangler YJ.

Also included are How to get the check engine light codes, removing a locking gas cap if you lost your key, oil changes, tune-ups, changing sensors, changing clutch, fuel pressure testing and so much more.

Modifications such as ammo can storage, Posi-lok conversion, push-button starter conversion.

Tool tricks and tips? Yep got that too.

Come on in and check out my channel. Please feel free to browse around my videos and don't forget to subscribe so you will know each time I post a new one. While you are at it check out my sites http:\\\\www.fixjeeps.com\\ .

Thanks, everyone for checking out my channel. Have a great day!! Peace :-)

    I wish you were my neighbor. I have a 87 YJ , I have replaced thermostat and water pump and I am still running hot. Flushed radiator and burped it. Is it more than likely a bad head gasket? Thank you

    Great videos! I'm trying to troubleshoot my non working tachometer. Per my wiring diagrams, one of the roles of the green signal wire coming from the coil is to send signal to the tach. So something I should check is continuity from the coil plug (green wire) to the tach. If that's good, it may indicate a bad tach. Am I'm I thinking about this right? Trying to learn. Your videos are the best!

    Now doesn't a 12,000lb. winch pull 300 amps? when pulling so wouldn't that blow that fuse every time?

  • @Poweraddicts
    @Poweraddicts4 күн бұрын

    I stated in the video and demonstrated that the winch is connected directly to the battery. So the fuse isn't directly effected by the winch.

    I make my own electrical lugs from appropriately sized soft copper tubing. Flatten in vice and drill appropriate sized hole for the stud. I think they are superior.

  • @Poweraddicts
    @Poweraddicts4 күн бұрын

    I have done that several times before. I don't have any tubing on hand at the moment. I do find that the soft copper doesn't crimp or hold a crimp as well,a so I solder tubing.

    What are you running for differentials? Lunchbox in the front and limited slip in the rear?

  • @Poweraddicts
    @Poweraddicts15 күн бұрын

    I'm running (the YJ) a Ford 8.8 limited slip rear and D30 Spartan locker front with the CAD collar locked in place with hose clamps. Some people talk smack about the hose clamp mod but I've been running it for years like that with no issues. I'll eventually do the solid axle swap when I feel froggy but the hose clamps work fine so I haven't been in any rush.

    @@Poweraddicts yeah man people talk all kinds of nonsense. I’ve been wheeling for years and have seen that done without issue on many rigs. I did one for a friend by moving the small snap ring on the fork rod and it worked great for years. I have a 94 and the vacuum system is still actually working! Hahaha..can’t believe it but it does. Keep the videos coming 👍

    My shifter feels loose . It will go in gear fine but in gear you can wobble the shifter back and forth. What’s worn out? Thanks

  • @Poweraddicts
    @Poweraddicts15 күн бұрын

    There is a plastic bushing below where the shifter bolts into the transmission, it could be worn. Its pretty easy to replace. Just unbolt the 4 bolts holding the shifter to the transmission. Pick up the shifter from the transmission you sill see the bushing. Unsnap the old ... snap on the new and reinstall the shifter and boots.
