I have a master disconnect as well. I wired it to one of those new 6 button gang switch systems. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGmgwdGzicSpqJc.html

Using that bump switch with steel wire, make sure to use dead weight on that cable in case something gives. You don't want to be standing close to the winch if that happens, you'll be in the line of fire...

I'm not gonna be inline with the cable if it's actually doing a hard pull. All a bump switch is for it minor adjustments to the cable while not hooked up to anything. I have the winch remote and I'm soon installing an incab switch for when the winch is actually doing work. And yes you are absolutely correct about weighing the cable down to absorb that stored energy from that cable. Thanks for leaving an awesome comment for others to learn by.

Till you hit it with a stick and it pulls the hook up into the winch.

I have a master cut off switch in the dash of the Jeep that removes power from the winch. I turned power on and off several times in the video. Here is the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dn-HpLWroK7Kdbw.html

I know a few people who are running the Harbor Freight winches. They aren't as crazy expensive as a Warn and still works well. Being less expensive makes it easier to save up for. Thanks for dropping in!

Spray PB Blaster in the bottom of the lever. If that doesn't work, take it apart and see why it is stuck. I need to take mine apart and grease the inside ... it gets kinda loud squeaking sometimes.

I just go to the local autoparts store and buy the lifetime warranty one. Parts like that I don't want to have to wait on shipping.
