I don't know what it is about her, but she always hits me right in the heart when she sings. Her unmatched tone, her outstanding resonance... Morissette - Queen of Song!

Here is what I have observed about Angelina that makes her stand out! She seems to have developed a real passion for music at an early age, she had a microphone in hand singing a Whitney Houston song at age 28 months! GOD blessed her with thicker vocal chords than most females, watch her age 12 video singing How Great Thou Art in Elvis's original key! Her grandmother is a world famous poet and painter, who became famous at age 9, she is a very passionate person, she recognized that in her granddaughter early and worked with Angelina and her parents, especially her Daughter Sara Astar, Angelina's mom, to nurture that talent as well as protect her and her talent! GOD blessed us with many talents, it's just that many go unrecognized or encouraged! Her family supports and protects her, her uncle is her Manager and protects her business interests and keeps her fun loving and grounded, her grandmother Mery Zamani and mom Sara protect her emotionally and her little sister Juliette is her constant companion! Angelina is doing what she loves and is passionate about! She developed her style from two main artists she loved Billie Holiday and Elvis, others also flavor her style but those are her key sources! I think Mery had a lot to do with research into older singers! Mery certainly knows how the wolves can attack and try to steal your talent and passion! That's my outside view of what I have seen!

From the start of this song, the piano and even the simple singing style is actually very reminiscent of the Korean folk songs my dad loved, he played me guitar and sang just like this. So this performance ensnared my heart. Another thing is the words he chose to tenderly elongate or say softly or shout, and the choice of words and timing of respectful language vs informal "home" language, it all strikes so close to the heart. When he cried "uri umma! (mom!)" I cried so hard, you can hear every child's voice coming from grown man. His storytelling and sincerity is immaculate and moving. It is extremely interesting to hear your specialist analysis of every other part of this performance, that I could never have known. It made me appreciate this singer even more. Many vocal analysis reviews do not come close to touching on the depth of your discuss. Thank you very much for your video.

Have been wanting to do sad country songs at karaoke, thanks for the tips on singing with grit/distortion, I definitely was forcing the grit out and being louder, never thought that the performers aren’t actually being louder

The dresses represented there are also very typical of Russian traditional folk type and the colours red and white, all white are also very ingrained into Russian culture, as well as the birch trees which are very often seen in many many Russian tales and song and movies.

Hi Dr Marc! I fell upon this video you made 4 years later. And I’m curious if you heard that our amazing ATEEZ PERFORMED THIS AT COACHELLA?!! Yes sir, they were outstanding. This version was shortened, but the one they perform at Coachella is the full version, but mixed with Symphony No 9 from the new world. Coachella hasn’t uploaded an official version. But good fancams can be found. I hope that you will analyze and compare this stage from early in their career with how they perform now. I’m really excited to hear your thoughts. I have a feeling they’ll really blow you away.

There is a combination of things that came together to bring us Angelina. She was exposed to jazz at an early age, probably while still in the womb. Her grandfather was a big jazz/blues lover. Her grandmother is a poet and artist, her mother is also musically talented. They spotted Angelina's talent early, at around 12 months, there is video of her at 18 months singing into a microphone she is holding. They arranged for her to go to a school with a good music program. Her first time in a recording studio was at 5, singing I Who Have Nothing. She had her first audition with Norway's Got Talent 201 and she left the judges speechless singing Gloomy Sunday. at some point she passed her 8th birthday performing I'm a Fool to Want You, Bang Bang, and the final song was Summertime. She won! Her next BIG milestone was AGT The Champions where she performed her own arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody and stunned the whole audience, and the Judges. Simon Cowell, Alisha Dixon and Howie Mandell were blown away by it and waxed lyrical. Heidi Klum hit the Golden Buzzer.the surviving members of Queen were so impressed with her treatment of Bohemian Rhapsody that they gifted her the rights to her version. She continues to grow musically.
