1835 is the year she was born. slavery ended in 1865. i assume she didnt stroll on down to the slave store after a long day in kindergarten. did she inherit slaves from her dad or husband? who were they? wealthy planters?

What are you talking about, she was 30 when slavery ended. She was married at 18 and yes she came from a wealthy slave owning family but she and her husband owned slaves on their own.

Because the title of this video is indeed "clickbait:" Per other sources, she was a slave owner. She was the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate, but she only served one day, as she was appointed to fill a vacancy until the Legislative session ended. She died in 1930, about a year after this video was recorded. As many White women who followed after her, she fought for awesome ideals (women's suffrage, equality of the sexes), but she was a staunch proponent of White Supremacy and racial segregation.

This video is a flat lie!!! That’s the Fruitcake lady that was featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in the late 1990s and 2000s! This is AI bologna!!!

  • @felizcuervito

It's not fake. Its an AI upscale of a filmed interview from 1929 of a woman named Rebecca Latimer Felton, who was indeed a slave owner and a terrible person even beyond that.

Her name was Rebecca Latimer Felton. She didn't discuss it in this video but she was indeed a slave owner. She was on the Board for the World's Columbian Exposition (Chicago World's Fair) but she wasn't from or really lived in Chicago.
