ZOOM H1 | USE AS 2IN/2OUT AUDIO INTERFACE {CONNECT TO COMPUTER - DRIVER DOWNLOAD}

In this video I'll show the basics of connecting your ZOOM H1 to your computer in order to use it as a 2in/2out Audio Interface!
If you are on OSX, you can use the Core Audio drivers. If you are on Windows you 'can' use a generic USB driver that Windows will automatically install. However, some applications will work better, or even require, an ASIO driver. Never fear! ZOOM provides an ASIO driver for Windows users!
ZOOM H1 ASIO DRIVER DOWNLOAD

You will also need a MINI USB cable to connect the Zoom H1 to your computer. Once connected, choose the "USB AUdIo" option when it flashes on the Zoom H1 screen (press RECORD to select).
Each DAW and audio program will require a different setup procedure, I do not go into that here. This video is to show you the basics of connecting your Zoom H1 to your computer in order to use it as an audio interface.
You can use the Zoom H1 as a microphone for your computer to make voice calls, or for webcam or screen capture recordings. Or, go a bit more pro and use it with your DAW, including the included Cubase LE.

    Thanks for this video!!! Does the Zoom H1 allow multi track recording into your DAW? I saw you mention it was a 2 in / 2 out, so I wondered if I would hook a Guitar up to the zoom using a mini jack input and record through it into the DAW at the same time as using the X/Y mic? Thanks

    No, the XY mic would be 2 inputs because it is stereo. When you plug something in to LINE IN it disables the XY mic.

    That should work if the Zoom is your audio interface. Just keep in mind that the Zoom H1 is 2 in / 2 Out. What DAW are you using?

    Which setup would you recommend for live-streamed ZOOM meetings that feature a speaker on stage using a lavalier and questions from the audience via handheld wireless mics ? Would the H6 work well potentially ? They would also like live in room monitoring via speakers so that everything is clearly sounded through the room via mixer and speakers . Thanks so much for any clarification !😄

  • @BenoniStudio

    The H6 should work, but you would probably have more options with a standard audio interface with more i/o. Zoom makes some larger recorders as well like the LiveTrak L-12 that would be even better for that purpose

    @@BenoniStudio Wow !! Your tip about the ZOOM LiveTrak L-12 is super helpful : ) I just looked it up and it looks like it may concurrently record live , send a mix to in room monitors , as well as send a balanced signal to the computer running ZOOM meetings . IS this correct ? Do you use one of those mixers ? I would love to learn more ! If this is true , then I wouldn't have to buy an interface or a direct box in addition to a regular mixer : )

    I don't use the LiveTrak, so I don't have experience with it. If you need to know exactly what it can do I would go through the manual or contact Sweetwater, they will have hands on experience with it.

    So I'm using the Zoom H1 as an audio interface, I plugged in my mic and my headphones on it. I am passing the computer audio to the H1 speakers so I can listen to everything through my headphones. The problem is I am also hearing the direct signal coming from the microphone which introduces a lot of noise. Any way I can disable this direct monitoring?
