I don't think this case will ever close: the Zodiac Killer was ingenious in covering his tracks and staying ahead of law enforcement similar to Ted Kaczynski. Given how well he executed these people under Det. Toschi's nose, he may have been a former lawman.

@@camachopocket2933 He was apparently an outdoorsman, and a prepper, who committed seemingly random acts of violence. He was relatively intelligent, so staying under the radar pre-DNA was much more easy than it would be today.

So the fact that people already think there were multiple killers in different cities isn't a crazy theory

It's not a crazy theory at all. Everyone has their favorite Zodiac suspect, but my opinion is one of two things. Either Zodiacs identity has yet to reveal itself (none of the current suspects), OR it was more than one person. And neither would surprise me. What would surprise me is if we later learn that it's someone like Arthur Leigh Allen or Gaikowski. THAT would surprise me. Zodiac didn't have a MO. One day he's shooting couples parked in cars, the next he's stabbing them on the beach, after that he's shooting lone cab drivers. And yes, these were all committed in different towns/cities. Some were quite a distance from each other. So 2 or even 3 killers wouldn't be a stretch at all. The real question would be whether or not they worked together or alone. My guess would be the latter.

It's possible more than one but I always felt Robert Greysmith identified zodiac his explanations seemed likely supposedly Mague identified in movie unless you give dna I think it's just conjecture and how about Bloodline Detectives anyway to identify off stines shirt or any dna off victims? Save face after decades? Not solving it still wouldn’t have hurt anyone reputation. Nobody active in law enforcement really cares anymore. The team who found out the true identity was an independent group. I’m not saying you’re wrong and I’m not saying the guy they identified is truly him, but I think it’s mostly legit

Also, the 1960s and 70s were the golden age of cults and neopaganism. I think he came from one of these groups.

The issue with this New Suspect is that you MUST assume that the same person wrote all the letters and was the same person who killed the 5 victims that are considered zodiac killer victims. That is a big issue. There is more reasonable and substantial evidence to conclude that these murders were not connected. The first 2 killings (2 couple in December and 2 in July) are connected. The Day time murder with suspect wearing black Zodiac costume is a copy cat and Stein the cab driver is unrelated.

So how do you explain that all involved departments, the CCI and FBI have connected the 4 conical attacks. When Zodiac sent his first group of letters regarding the two Vallejo Crimes, he did not seal the envelops with saliva; however, utilized a very "unconventional" method. When he sent letters to the SF Chronical, especially the one with the swatch of Stine's bloody shirt; he used the same method of sealing the envelops. Couple that with the handwriting being confirmed a match, double-postage which the public did not know about at the time, it would be a fair argument that they are all connected. The issue with this new suspect is that some "group" of researchers claimed to have solved the case. This did not come from any LE announcement/press conference etc.

Poste wasnt the killer,i was my dad! We owned a cabin in the hills that we only went to but once a year. One day i dug up a trunk filled with his hood and cypher code sheet,he died in 76. When i descovered what i found i burned it. My dad was in vietnam and when he came home he started acting weird and we didnt know what was wrong with him,it wasnt until 97 that i found the trunk with his black hood and cypher. The place where the first murder happened was only 11 miles from our vacation cabin!

I don’t think it was him I still believe and maintain that it was two different people. With it being two different people if one was starting to get suspicious by the police another person could do the killings afterwards so the trail would then be cold for the other guy that was doing it.

@@jpeg.600x2 Yes, if you look up Joseph Paul Franklin he looks just like the sketch, his name fits into the ciphers also. You can write a book on the evidence that it was Franklin.

based on activity .. zodiac active between 1969 - 1979. Reasonable to say he was 35-40 .. meaning he'd be be born somewhere in the 1930s I find it odd that there is no more communication

i found something i find a bit interesting....the writing on the table that is marked R.H in the library with zodiacs hand writing...could it have been the zodiac but he has signed it as Richard Haefner...r.h? i searched for a murder about a girl in a red dress becuase its states it in the poem. the one that came up said the murderer was believed to be Richard Haerner...maybe his poem is a tribite to his murder...and this was written in a library correct? aparantly the girl was stabbed in Pennsylvania state library...coincidence???? and this happen in 1969...pretty much the same time the zodiac started killing....Richard Haerner was also a doctor btw
