He most likely killed himself. He says that death doesn’t scare him and he has enough slaves for him. He could mean that in the afterlife he has enough people he killed to be his slaves. Maybe he wasn’t scared of getting caught since he would’ve ended his own life either way, just wanted to send codes in case they do find out who he is but he’ll already be dead. It sounds like a really crazy conspiracy but that’s the most logical one I could think of.

This makes sense, but he could've died because of old age if the Zodiac was in his 20s or 30s (I could be wrong) then he'd be 80 by now, and the average American lives up to 78.6 years. He either killed himself because he wasn't afraid of death, OR died to old age, but what you gave was a valid point, it may be true.

If he wanted them to solve it while keeping the attention on himself, he wouldve kept sending the same substitution style method but he switched it up quite quickly

All ciphers were broken 2 years ago. Listen, it is so super easy. All I had was pencil and Google translator. You put what ever he wrote on left-- put the special char in too. Hit enter. Hi courtney type into Google ross Sullivan then click images he is a dead ringer for the zodiac sketch drawing plus ross Sullivan studied cryptology which fits perfectly with the cypher codes plus he knew the 1st victim cheri jo bates very well he drove the exact same vw beetle cheri drove and sabotaged the fuel sump in her car then offered her a lift straight after her work then killed her .... 1 of her friends said told police that 1 month later she went to the shops parked her car unlocked then when she got back her car door was locked she sensed something was up and quickly opened the passenger door jumped in locked the doors then saw ross Sullivan jump out of the bushes and walked right passed her car acting like nothing happened .... ross's brother believes he is the zodiac killer he left town after the murder of cheri p.s some of the writing is a perfect match to the zodiac letters especially the letter "s" which he wrote in a very unique way and finally ross was a huge fan of the book the death wheel which was featured in the zodiac Halloween card i hope this helps .

"The chances of solving this after 50 years was next to 0" how so?, solving a cipher would get easier over time, they didnt have super computers in the 60s
