I think one of the main reasons he didn’t get caught is because he had the restraint to stop. Most killers will have the urge for a long time and once they finally subdue that urge, the thrill of it all is too much to escape. This man, somehow managed to resist against that thrill once he knew he was close to getting caught. Perhaps something in his life was too valuable to loose.

my family has been in the bay area since 1958. the zodiac was 2-3 people including allen and a police officer (i believe with the same initials as the famous desk carved poem). this explains why allen was ruled out by certain things but fit other pieces perfectly. it also explains the inflated number of 37 kills. over time their partnership went off the rails and they kinda went rogue which is why the best suspects were only ruled out by a few factors. it’s kinda odd this isn’t talked about that much outside of the bay area that much still but it’s definitely worth looking into cause it’s kinda all out there but people just always wanted it to be one guy. also the person that wrote the letters was never the same one that sent them and licked the envelopes

@@webeefhere It could still have been a pair, just being one person doing the murders on day, a different one another, maybe sometimes both together. It would make sense the one time that it wasn't two people would be the one time someone would get away, though they'd have to be the same height and weight and wearing the same shoes as not to be detected by having different shoe print analysis. Logically there would be one and only one responsible for the codes though, otherwise the handwriting difference would be obvious.

In the Zodiac movie a person claiming to be the Zodiac made a call to that tv host/lawyer, but a housekeeper answered the phone and she claims that the caller mentioned that it was his birthday that day-of all the suspects only ALA had that birthday.

Here's an idea, what if it's multiple people, all going under the name of the "zodiac killer" that would explain why multiple people have had evidence point to them

In my opinion, he was an intelligent man with military experience. He claimed many more lives than the authorities believe and I think many unsolved cases in the 60s-70s were a result from him. I don’t think he stopped. I think he waited years in between killings and began to travel to throw off police. Plus changing up the way he did it. He was different than the rest because he probably didn’t want the fame and attention, just simply didn’t want to get caught.

I'm hugely skeptical, especially because one of the "evidences" are the marks on his forehead, like the sketch. Really? Those were not marks, just regular frown forehead. No victim or observer of the Zodiac were in the position to describe his forehead with precision. That does not make sense at all.

@@dddddaria - Yes, around 20 years later. Going by what he told the police right after the crime, Arthur doesn't fit the description. Arthur was also ruled out by other means like handwriting, fingerprints and more.

Arthur Leigh Allen has the most circumstantial evidence ever seen in a high profile Case, let that sink in. He also matched the height + weight of the person at lake berryessa And much more. Even to finding the same type of bombs in his basement just like the zodiac letter said. And all the weapons including the 9mm luger which is rare af since it went out of service in 1945, yet he had that and The zodiac used it, or the 1 foot double edged bayonet knife used at lake berryesa ... list is just massive I can write a whole story

Thank GOD that Cheri made sure she got some of the Killers DNA on her. Bc that is one thing you need to do, if you’re gonna get killed: make sure you scratch, bite or do anything else that’ll make sure that you’re killers’ DNA is on YOUR OWN BODY; whether dead or alive! Without Cheri’s willpower to fight, then the forensic scientists may not have had enough DNA evidence to cooberate sample DNA from other ppl.

Everyone new to the Zodiac case: it's not solved yet. They've shown no evidence thus far, nothing has been confirmed. This sort of thing happens a lot with this case but these guys just happened to get a lot of attention. It's likely just a publicity stunt, until they can show evidence.

Well, methinks the title "Zodiac...Finally Revealed" is just a wee bit on the overblown side. For one thing, none of the numerous local, state, and federal agencies investigating this case have expressed anything like agreement with this statement. For another, whether any witness even described the killer as having a scar on his forehead in the first place has been disputed by at least one noted Zodiac investigator. I think Poste will need to take a number and get in line as just one of many suspects to be considered - for now.

Tom, then just tell the FBI you want the POI you stated to them that you solved in 2017. Or so you told them. You want it removed, its open and unsolved. If you were an honest person you will do this and you are not.

Zodiac would’ve been caught had it not been for 911 caller. Zodiac killed a cab driver and there was a witness, but the 911 caller said the killer was black so the police drove right past Zodiac. He later sent in a letter and a piece of the cab driver’s shirt, the letter said the police drove right past him.

I said it on the last video, I'll say it again here: While Poste has one of the strongest cases for being the Zodiac, local law and our FBI field office are doubting it at the moment (at least publicly) for a reason: The smoking gun evidence isn't there. They need to find that weapons cache, or match his DNA to the saliva, or all we're left with is that a creep who looked the role has a lot of circumstantial evidence tying him to several of the scenes. And, as a San Franciscan, I can't wait until I see who gets outed as the Zodiac for November- Seems like this is a monthly thing, and while I like that channels like this talk about the ones that make headlines, you'll realize how quick this becomes simultaneously hilarious and sad after a while. Zodiac is like Jack the Ripper- We might have the guy on the short list, but without a smoking gun, they're just a name on the short list. As for Poste, I say just test his DNA, and settle the matter.

I’m sus that they said his name cracked the code. What did it say? I never thought that the zodiac would actually leave his name in a cypher. I think he is one of the weakest suspects.

Caleb once showed up at the late Y.P.I., and he even brought a briefcase. No one was allowed to talk to anyone else, but I thought he wasn't a flunky. He said, "Maybe we transferred," which would make sense to them, but my father can explain the rest about Robert (and Lois) . . . So he took a selfie of him closing the suitcase as if very angry, which you would like as a therapeutic punishment because it was repeated.

The saddest part of the story is the myriad of suspects, most of whom seemed to be extremely evil people even without having the Zodiac crimes linked to them with evidence.

Here's the even odder thing - there were links between most of the suspects you knew of to Zodiac. And links from the victims to Zodiac, he knew most everyone he killed, Stine was the first stranger.

Put a ? mark in the title! Until we get a 100% confirmation and have the case CLOSED, it's OPEN

All of this is circumstantial evidence at best. Sounds like nobody still isn’t sure who the zodiac was .

He looks like the wanted poster or whatever, he's been heard confessing, he's been seen burying weapons, he owned the boots used during the killings, etc etc. Sounds like a bit more than a coincidence.

There's circumstantial evidence on multiple suspects. There was quite a bit of circumstantial evidence on Arthur Leigh Allen, who was the main suspect for a while, but his fingerprints, palm prints, and handwriting did not match the Zodiac's, and he was cleared.

I lived in the city of Riverside not that long ago. I didn't know the Zodiac killings happened so near to me. 😬

Didn’t they say that they wrongfully indentified that guy as the zodiac, and that he’s still (probably) at large? Pretty misleading

Because in 74 he went to work on a solar farm in the Middle East for 10 years. He was only a kid that they never suspected, but they brought in him twice because they were tipped off, they let him go both times, third time - kind of.

Some of them genuinely think that their relative is the Zodiac Killer. Remember, the Unabomber's brother ratted him out.

Arthur Lee Allen did the shootings/stabbings and had an accomplice write and mail the letters. Or it could've been himself since he was ambidextrous and that can manifest different styles of writing altogether and in most extreme cases psychologically change the person depending on which hand things are written. Whoever Zodiac was, he got away with it

I remember I first heard about this because of a news article recommended to me.

We finally know who DB Cooper was too. It was Loki. Crazy how so many of these cold cases are getting solved lately.

Arthur leigh allen was positively id'd by the survivor . That and his military record and zodiac watch plus one of his victims knew him. I honestly dont understand why people still think someone else did it. when he went to jail the letters stopped and when he got out the letters started again. not a coincidence.

I have a gut feeling it’s Lawrence Kaye, after all, Kaye lived in Tahoe near the woods. He also looks EXACTLY like the sketch ✍️ drawing. One thing people IGNORE are the glasses 🤓, older people in these times REFUSE to get contacts.

I feel like if this happened today he would be found immediately.

They once said a video takes months to make. So I guess they have a lot of projects going on with a clear workflow, a big group of people, and divided tasks. The narrator guy might just be full time narrating and that’s it.

@@ptbot3294 Not for a computer though. The cipher isn't very complicated, so for a computer actually decoding the cipher wouldn't take the most time. The real concern would've been finding all the names, as you said. However for such a big and important case, I can't believe they didn't try atleast the most popular suspects?

The 3rd cipher does look like the name Lawrence Kane and he fits greatly to be the Zodiac killer Also I heard the translation for the second letter clearly admits the name Arthur Leigh. Was all that intentional I think he somehow knows the suspects and is messing with people. However Bates was never a suspect or in popular consensus to be him. If I had to guess who it was it would be Bates
