As a Californian I'd say the decline into a cesspool of Oakland and other cities along with increasing state level quality-of life declines, is not by accident. Years if not decades of legislative foolishness in cities and the state capital have resulted in basically more uncivilized behavior, which is increasingly tolerated by the judicial system, and by the people themselves as they just become accustomed and accepting as they adapt to more and more lawless and/or trashy behavior by the people around them.

Scott Weiner SF proposed a new “…progressive…” law which makes it much harder for Police to arrest on suspicion of prostitution, wearing skimpy dresses in public. Estimated prostitution jumped 50% as 1/1/23 when the new restrictions went into effect.

I remembering driving by with my kids in the car and they asked me why there are half naked females on the street. In that moment I was so ashamed of not having the ability to move out of Oakland and providing a better environment for my kids.

If they can't get shoplifters, people squatting on your property or anything else prosecuted by the law, why would anyone think prostitution would matter enough either?

Watching our entire state of California crumble down to pieces is just sad. This is also a huge problem in the slum areas of Los Angeles and the city and authorities just don’t care to do anything about it. Retail petty theft? Same thing.

Regulate and tax the brothels. Force the girls to get tested regularly, register and only operate from sanctioned brothels. Use the taxes to fund an enforcement and rehab task force for both the sex addicts and girls who are addicted to drugs. It’s the oldest profession yet nothing is being done to bring it out of the shadows and eliminate the negative side effects.

It’s not there fault is the governor that allowed it to happen.
