YouTuber & Extremist Hiker Disappears, Only Cell Phone Found

#missinghiker
#unsolvedmysteries
Hello everyone, in today's video we will be discussing a case which I'm sure many of you might be familiar with. We will be discussing the disappearance of Kenny Lee Veach in November of 2014.
Kenny was 47 years old at the time and living in the Las Vegas area of Nevada.
He was an extremist hiker and cave explorer, in which he would go on these day or overnight hikes with very few supplies. On one particular hike, he claimed to have found a cave shaped like a perfect capital M. somewhere north of Nellis Air Force Base.
He stated that this cave made his whole body feel like it was vibrating and very uncomfortable. Out of all his trips he said this was the one that scared him the most.
While Kenny was watching another channel called " Sirius Disclosure " he left a comment on a video titled " Son of An Area 51 Technician"
Kenny screen name: Snakebitmgee
This then spawned a huge comment thread in which people wanted him to go back and find this cave and document it.
One commenter unlike most of the others said: " no don't go there, if you find the cave entrance don't go on or you won't come out"
which of course only caused more comments and more interest.
Later we found out from 2 comments that were more in a letter form from his girlfriend, by the name of Sheryon, that told everyone that he had gone missing and various details about his life. She also said that she believes he went out there to take his own life.
To read the full letter from the gf, please look below at any of the sources.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny and his family and loved ones🙏🙏
Thank you for watching!

This case really captures the imagination. I've followed it for several years and watched various videos that try to trace Kenny's steps. To those of us still here in this physical world, it just seems so compelling of a mystery when someone just simply disappears without a single trace.

Aquachigger made several videos, trying to find the M cave and explore the area. He thought he found the cave, because in it was a sign that said either "No trespassing" or "Area 51" - I can't remember which one it said. It is sad, and I believe he committed suicide. And, living in NM, I highly disagree with anyone who hikes with the intent to take chances. I stopped watching one channel that I liked because the couple went off trail in a desert. No one should encourage others to do that.

That’s my theory. The whole M cave thing was a red herring. Kenny went out there somewhere he knew he wasn’t likely to be found and ended himself. The M cave, the “disappearance” and the area were calculated to create an artificial mystery. Kenny’s final gift to the world.

There are facts about this that are both unclear and not often considered. One is the condition and circumstances of his cell phone when found near the mine. Was it just left as if just set down, or did it look as if it had fallen or been dropped by accident? We also don't know what was on it, if anything? The police have never been open about the circumstances surrounding the cell phone. The other thing that often is used as an excuse for this being a one way, suicide trip is that he left his video camera at his home. It was found there when it was searched in the days after he was reported missing. However they did not find his other camera that he often took with him mostly for the purposes of taking still photos, so it is presumed he took that along. It was a Canon Rebel DSLR that in addition to taking quality high resolution stills can also take video. So if he was in need of taking video of something he came across then he would have been more than capable of doing so. Because he took this camera I don't think he went out to commit suicide. Although it could be argued that he was suicidal by nature by being reckless in the way he purposely was unsafe and refused to take precautions, making him always one small accident away from death. In the conditions in this region, any time of the year, an ankle injury or any immobilization, can result in death in a matter of days if not hours. The desert area is brutally quick in disposing of and dispersing the remains of those who die and are not found quickly. More so even than heavily wooded temperate regions. Even clothing is broken down and destroyed over time by the elements and harsh conditions. Plastics and metals are the most likely thing to survive and those can be taken as prizes by rats that love to carry those off to use in their nests. You will often see shiny objects used inside rat nests, everything from licence plates to aluminum cans. By this time the best hope of finding any of his remains is if he died in a hollow that would prevent his remains from being washed out. This would keep at least some of his bones in one location over time. KV is most likely the victim of his own overconfidence.

Interesting post. It seems odd to me that he would enter a cave unarmed-I mean earlier when he wasn't so depressed. There could be bears, cougars, coyotes or wolves in a cave. He just looks like a nice person so, to me, the suicide part is probably remote. As Bryan said, he may have come upon some bad people. I love these videos of Bryan's but they bother me because of people just disappearing. I think of how terrified they must have been when their last moment came.

  • @socket_error1000

@@jerrylee8261 Possible, but he did take his gun with him often and it was not found at his home so it was believed to be with him this time. The depression/suicide issue is debated as he didn't do a lot of the things people exhibiting suicidal ideation tend to in their final stages. This hypothesis is often questioned as his girlfriend is the only source of this and it was mentioned to her just once on a hiking trip several months before. So it may have been just him talking and not being too serious about it. As far as dangerous people go, a lot of people hike in the area, even more so since his disappearance as this mystery has quite a following. I have never heard of anyone having issues with any bad people out there. Nobody has reported having their vehicle broke into while hiking that I have heard of, etc. An animal attack is possible as there are cougars around. The terrain is very rough and he often went up and down through washes and he liked to get off the normal route people might take. In fact a lot of the trails marked there now are the trails people have mapped from his M-cave hike video, as they tried to recreate the hike and searched for him by locating landmarks from his video. So it is easy to see him get into a situation where he either fell and hit his head or broke a leg with the type of hiking he normally did. Although it has been well established that he likely wasn't hunting for his M-cave on this hike as he was planning a 3-day hike and the M-cave route is one he could traverse in several hours. Having left his cell phone at the well where he liked to start a lot of his hikes from he had no way to call for help, the sporadic service in the region might have made the use of it in an emergency moot anyway (this is within site of area 51 after all). His normal habit of minimal provisions would mean by the time they reported him missing he could have been exposed and unable to seek shelter for days.

@@jerrylee8261 Yeah, I agree. While suicidal people often don't think of others being concerned about them after the fact, all the things I have seen of him in his videos and heard of his behavior, it really didn't seem like he was at that point of suicide when he went missing.

The kindest coworker I ever had, who looked kind, and was also kind and helpful and selfless...committed suicide when we were laid off without notice or reason and being strung alone about requalifying for our positions. Suicidal people don't have a one size fits all "look". You never know. Many are good at hiding their depression and Suicidal thoughts.

He also didn't take much water or food with him. He had mental issues and had masochistic tendencies. Just to go up there he needed to steeply go up for 2 hours at least, there wasn't a way to bring more water with him than he could carry. He really liked to gamble with his life. So that's why he kept returning to this area. I've seen a duo trying to hike around there and they said it was barbaric.

Bryan, did you delete my comments about the coin giveaways? I think you must have. Since there are screenshots that is only more evidence that these giveaways are fraudulent and misleading to the public. As I said in my previous comment- I want to help you. You have clearly been advertising these coin giveaways in most of your videos asking for comments in exchange to be entered into the giveaway. You have not been in possession of the coins you claim to have or have given away. There is no evidence that you have ever actually given a coin away, and you are using this incentive to gain monetary value in the form of likes and comments to boost your channel. You can not do fake giveaways- that is a fact. I need you to contact me so I can offer legal advice and help you avoid prosecution as you would lose if it came down to that. In the meantime, please for your own well being cease claiming you are giving away coins. I should also add that claiming to give donations to the channel to various agencies involved in search and rescue and NOT donating to them after saying this is also illegal and misleading. If you have Lyme Disease and your doctor doesn't immediately start you on antibiotics I would report them for negligency. I had Lyme Disease for prob 3 years until diagnosed with blood test. It took 6-7 months of antibiotics but eventually my immune system prevailed and gone ever since( this was in the mid 1990's.) The longer Lyme goes untreated the more difficult it becomes to treat and some folks especially in the 80's before detection still have lifelong damage. COMPLETELY TREATABLE WITH ANTIBIOTICS! Whatever Dr. told you that is either a fraud or a terrible physician. Good luck and don't slack on your meds and get blood tests every 40-50 days to monitor the spirochetes.

Bryan, did you study this one? Just vanished in Vancouver, BC; nothing ever found. Nearly 30 years after the unsolved disappearance of a UBC student, University RCMP is extending its call for information from community members. Emerson Dobroskay, a then-21-year-old meteorology graduate student from Saskatoon, disappeared in the early morning of October 28, 1988. The evening before, he had been at the Pit Pub with his friends Dave, Jim and Mark. Dobroskay separated from the group and left the venue at 1 a.m. After failing to return to his dorm in Totem Park residence, University RCMP conducted a vast search of the area with a dog team and even a helicopter survey of the area. The RCMP also received tips from across the country and abroad, but they were never able to locate Dobroskay. At the time of his disappearance, he wore a brown pull-over sweater, a blue shirt, dark pants and dark suede shoes. He was then 5’7, 125 lbs with blue eyes and light brown curly hair.

I'm surprised it took you this cover this. The common theory is he made himself disappear and the M Cave is a cover; someone who hikes that much in the desert can find an m shaped cave easily. I just hope they find him or his remains for his family's sake.

It seems weird to me that a person would put a loved one’s personal business out there on the Internet for strangers to read, esp. if you think your loved one died. It seems more like the “girlfriend” was trying to steer people to believe a certain outcome.

He found a cave off the beaten track and killed himself... He was depressed. I've survived with serious clinical depression for years an often have suicidal tendencies, and have attempted suicide a few times. The times when I thoughts about suicide I sometimes thought how it would be great to just disappear...loved ones have no idea what happened, and it'd be better than finding a a body hanging from a tree or squashed under a truck. The so-called "M-Cave" was just nonsense. I've been on forums and other internet places and argued with folks,an it's not surprising how many people came back at me with 'definite proof' statements, who claim that they are going to provide the proof...then they never post again. I think Kenny made a statement, doubled down when challenged, and went off to kill himself and create a mystery. There's NO evidence for the 'M-Cave' only Kenny's words it existed, I can't believe how low some people's burden of proof is! He also stated it was a perfect M shape - that should be easy to identify, yet many folks have looked for it and not found it. The phone was left for more mystery--perhaps to be people believing he went into the mineshaft--but also maybe he was paranoid(sometimes paranoia is partnered with depression, this I know from personal experience) and believed he could be tracked so left the phone behind.

Girlfriend certainly did exhibit strange behavior online. Regardless it seems to me that he did deliberately leave his cell phone, it’s the only logical explanation. And he did this because he didn’t intend to be found or intended to exist the area alive. If he wasn’t as enamored with the desert and that particular area I could entertain the possibility of him running of to start another life. He decided to end it all in a place he loved. Sad but he’s one of millions who have and will, including my first wife.

I’ve watched some KZreadrs who have gone searching for Kenny. It struck me how nutty some of the theories about his disappearance are when one of the searchers who wasn’t a geologist was saying look how someone has moved this rock and closed up this cave! He swore this was the M cave. Honestly I never saw the M so it seemed like wishful thinking. I believe he either committed suicide or met a tragic accident. The dizziness that he and others have experienced it was likely a combination of altitude, dehydration and low electrolytes.

That entire region has many bizarre stories associated with it. The fact that it's by a notorious Airforce Base is significant. One of the most strange and suspicious stories that I ever personally heard of, came from an enlisted man who was sent and stationed there briefly. I'm not going to go into details, but he and his squadron were actually ordered to do something "fun" during their downtime. However the few that refused to do so and parted ways with the group, coincidentally had a really bad accident and were severely and permanently injured. He was still fighting to get his full medical benefits several years later. 🙄

Did they question any of the people who goaded him on? It almost sounds like a setup. They knew where he'd be well ahead of time. If I were a predator of some sort, I can easily picture playing on someone's overconfidence/desire to show off like that in order to get them somewhere EXTREMELY remote like that.

Is it possible that he never actually went out there on that last hike? Somebody else (his girlfriend or someone else) could have hiked out and left his cell phone in that spot where it was found. It's even possible that the extreme hiker himself was the person pretending to be his girlfriend and commenting. Was he trying to throw people off track to disappear to somewhere else? Or did someone "unalive" him and then post the comments to throw everyone off? No one on social media has to be who they say they are. Much of the internet is deception.

I've easily watched a hundred or more hours about the Kenny Veach disappearance. I have no way of knowing the truth about any of the videos. I recall that there were many days delay in reporting his disappearance. Strange inconsistencies seem to exist in some of the search results which the delay in starting the search might account for. There have been multiple people showing their hikes in that region and there are many places an unintentional fall would require remarkable fortune to locate the exact spot of a fatal fall. It is a Wildlife Management Area so no drones are allowed and no motor vehicles are allowed. In the case of " the Death Valley Germans" it was years before the remains of the two adults were located and the remains of the two children have never been found. My information is only from KZread so there is a slight possibility of new information that I am unaware of. The complexity of the Kenny Veach disappearance is so great that it will probably remain unsolved which is very unfortunate.

I thought Kenny was living alone, and he & his Girlfriend had been broken up for quite some time- (according to many reports).🤔YT channel "Aquachigger" made several videos searching for Kenny. The Chiggers was very thorough, putting himself in the mindset of someone both seeking the "M" cave( and comparing landmarks from Kenny's videos), as well as the mindset of a severely depressed person; (where would THEY go to "off" themselves)? Several YT channels have recorded searches for Kenny. One common theme is how MANY caves are shaped like an "M". One last thought; could Kenny have been arrested/incarcerated by area 51 personnel? Did he find something he shouldn't have, or wander too far into off limits territory? Great video!

The trail is cold now. But as an experienced Solo extreamist I would reenforce the idea that he would be difficult to find if he wanted to disappear. I'm inclined to want to find out about the cave first. Something that wierd needs to be included in his disappearance. If it's a real cave he might have stumbled into a military secret.
