Hiker & His Dog killed by Same Bullet Hiking in Walupt Lake, WA

Hello everyone In, In today's video we will be discussing the tragedy that occurred last August (August 19, 2022) Aron Christensen (49 from Portland, OR) and his dog Buzzo were camping with friends at Walupt Lake in Washington State.
Aron at one point decided to go on a 13 mile solo hike with his dog Buzzo an Australian Cattle Dog puppy. Sadly that was the last time they were seen alive.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Aron's family, friends and loved ones. I hope and pray you get justice for Aron🙏🙏

Did the first sheriff assume the puppy also had a heart attack and fell on another stick? What a bizarre conclusion to jump to. A layperson, the hiker, could recognize a shooting, but the law enforcement officer couldn't. This has been covered in the news extensively here in the Portland Metro Area, at least, so I really hope there's pressure on them to bring some justice.

This whole situation is extremely sketchy. How does a bullet shot line up from a puppy to a human adult?? Was Aron carrying the puppy? And an officer concludes the that Aron had a heart attack and fell on a stick? This is all very strange. I hope this tragedy doesn’t just disappear. As always, thank you for bringing these stories to light. I had not heard about this before.

It seems there is a lot of gross incompetence here. Add that there is likely some cover up involved to try and spare the local government agencies from liability. At the very least this is involuntary manslaughter. It does not matter if the guy was scared by a growl or if he more likely took a shot at what he thought was a bear from a long distance. Even if the gunshot was not initially fatal or if the man died of a heart attack after being shot, the actions of the shooter and resulting inaction and failure to render aid are what led to his death. If your negligent or criminal actions cause a person to have a heart attack and die, or cause any related death, it is manslaughter in Washington state. Washington has some very strict laws concerning this. If you are commiting a crime and a policeman is chasing you and dies from a heart attack you will be charged with his death in Washington state (even if he was grossly unhealthy to begin with. A few years back policeman here accidentally jumped off an overpass (East side of HWY 2 trestle) while trying to get to a suspect ( that had surrendered on the opposite roadway, falling over 30' to his death instead. The man who surrendered and was laying face down in the road at the command of that officer at the time and had no idea what had happened, continuing to lay there as instructed until other officers arrived to find him patiently waiting spread eagle in the road to be handcuffed. He was convicted of manslaughter for the officer's death and received a 10 year sentence for it. How this kid is getting away without being charged for manslaughter is after confessing to it is beyond me.

Hearing about how this was handled by police, it makes me wonder if the officer was purposely trying to cover up what happened. How did they believe their stick theory when both the man and the dog were dead? It’s impossible, or at the very least, improbable. Sorry to hear that this happened. who is this shooter and who is he connected to that he gets away with KILLING ARON? He even admitted to shooting him. There should be negligent homicide charges at the very least. A man is dead and another admits to firing his weapon at an unseen target in an unsafe manner---and to top it off leaves the scene and waits until the next day (after they get their stories straight) to call the police.

It’s appalling to hear of a hiker being murdered while enjoying nature, whether hiking or backpacking or camping. It’s even more upsetting to realize that the shooter just left them there, no attempt at life-saving measures, no call for help…I feel like the shooter was making excuses. God only knows what really happened, but his story is pretty ridiculous given the size of a 4-month old puppy. Someone needs to be held accountable when a man is dead. The police were incredibly incompetent to move the body before determining what happened. The whole thing stinks.

Been in forensics since 1991, this is the most egregious case of botched police activity that I've heard about in years! We need to seriously keep an eye on this one.. The immediate phone call from the female witness is very very concerning. Blows an enormous hole in the perpetrators story of no cellphone service...big red flag. And the cop didn't say how the puppy died.. what did he think happened to the puppy? Buzzo wouldn't be very tall, so what was the angle/trajectory of the bullet to kill him, too? The teenager made it sound like "the animal" was rushing him.. he didn't just shoot at a growl, did he? A puppy growl is about as scary as a marshmallow, it sounds nothing like a big animal growl. Bryan, can you do a video on something I noticed while watching "Missing 411: The Hunted"? I live in NM and in that video, he pointed out clusters of missing people. The one he focused on was north, around Santa Fe but he also showed on a map there was another area south of there (closer to where I live; south of ABQ) where it appeared (by the red arrows on the map) that 3 people went missing. It looked to be around Socorro. Can you look into that? I'd love to hear about those disappearances. Thanks so much. I really enjoy your videos and your true concern for those lost or deceased, and their grieving loved ones. God bless you.

They will... the first attempts to get the actual fucking cops to investigate... then the county prosecutor.... then A.G. then State Governor to take this case out of Lewis County were fruitless. There is a tort claim against the county for Buzz now and another attempt to either go federal with the FBI. This is not over. We will not stop. Please spread the story as much as you can, we need all the help we can get!

So after the shooting there were a couple horseback riders that were on that trail and saw the dog and the owner. Take into consideration the horses were on the trail and from atop the horses they observed a man and his dog, not on the dirt trail but obviously over a few feet. They assumed the man was napping with his dog. They didn't report it because the dog and man were lying in positions that looked like they were comfortably resting. Later a walker came upon the two and realized they were not responding.

I watched this on tv the other on something cant remember, that said, it sounds like the young man probably accidentally shot the man, maybe didn't kill him right away. The autopsy showed he had a heart attack but the heart attack didnt kill him. Could it be it happened under stress of being shot and maybe even seeing them kill his dog (which i beleive they killed the dig made it look like he was shot to cover up what actually happened) or could he had had previous heart attack damage? I feeling strongly that it was an accident but was covered up and that the police and coroner were sloppy in their handling of the bodies of both the man and his dog.

We had an elder family member and had a young son in his 20s they lived on a calif central valley farm fruit trrees etc some young guy went deer hunting on the property despite no hunting signs and people living on the property. His son got "accidentally " shot and killed. I don't think they ever did any punishment to the shooter. It did wreck the remainder of his dad's life they moved out of state.

How did a man, standing, shoot a small dog and, with the same bullet, hit another man standing behind the dog? Wouldnt the shot be angled so far down when shooting the dog? I wonder if the dog was being held by the victim when they were shot. None of it adds up. How awful and frustrating.

Hold the hell up for a second!! You trying to tell me this bear hunter was hiking along with his gf to go meet his father, he hears a growl in the brush and blindly fires at the sound, killing not only the dog but it's human too?! Was the dogs owner down on the ground in the bushes behind his pup? This is a 4 month old pup! He probably had the dog in his pack, on his back because how the hell did a round fired at a dog very low to the ground, also jet up to hit his human? We talking jfk magic bullet here? I mean sure a ricochet could happen making the round vear upward. But it's hard to imagine. My guess is that the young inexperienced hiker and bear hunter, was extremely jumpy fearing a bear attack. The man or the dog were off the trail and probably made a noise to alert the hiker to their presence. At which time, with heightened nerves, the young man accidentally fired a round toward the sound, unfortunately killing both. Just a guess but it kind of makes sense. Then, not knowing what to do, he panicked and went to get dad. Then relayed the story his father told him to stick with. My God how tragic all the way around and heartbreaking. My prayers to the victims and their families. Also to the young man as I do not believe he meant to shoot them but who does need consequences to learn from this mistake. Sorry so long winded. Had alot of thoughts on this

This is such an awful story. My mom, who lives in Lewis County, alerted me to this story some time ago. I read everything I could find on it at that time. I remember there was speculation that the shooter and his girlfriend were on some type of drugs at the time of the incident. Also, because the girlfriend was a minor, her name was not published. The family of the deceased got different stories from the sheriff's and DA's offices about what happened whenever they called checking the status of the case. On one occasion, they were told that there was reluctance to charge the shooter because he was a good kid, or words to that effect. It's pretty clear to me that the family of the shooter has some tight connections with the criminal justice system in Lewis County and a coverup was engaged in. Nothing else makes sense. Given the confession of the shooter, I don't see why this not an open and shut case of manslaughter. He admitted he fired the gun and the hiker died. Intent is not needed. End if story.
