"You Can't Change Sex!" LGB Alliance Founder Debates Transgender Inclusion

Ойын-сауық

Piers Morgan Uncensored guest presented by Rosanna Lockwood is joined by social media influencer Oli London, LGBTQ+ activist Peter Thatchell, comedian and radio presenter James Barr and co-founder of LGB Alliance Bev Jackson to debate the ongoing discussion of whether lesbian, gay and bi-sexual should be separate from gender identity such as transgenderism.
Bev suggests she and many other people from the LGB group were not happy about transgender and other gender identities being put with LGB to form LGBTQ+ in the first place because their alliance was to do with sexual orientation and not gender identity. Bev later goes on to say she personally disagrees with transgenderism and she believes you cannot change sex.

These two gay men talk about being inclusive, and that there are no problems in the LGBTQ community, which is complete BS. These days you have these Non Binary, and Gender Fluid individuals, which align themselves with the Trans community, but are not trans at all. These Non Binary and Gender Fluid individuals can change their gender identity, and pronouns whenever they want. There is no stability in a community that can change their gender identity, or pronouns at the drop of a hat. Plus how can any of those individuals ever begin to think about being mis-gendered, or worry about another person not using your current selection of pronouns? To some of those individuals it's like a pronoun du jour, or in other words it's like a soup of the day, only for pronoun usage. This is lunacy.

@@jde9711I knew I was gay from a very early age, but being young it took me growing up to know what that truly meant. Kids may have feelings but they need to grow and learn themselves, before taking such drastic measures. When they are old enough and have experienced life and still feel the same way, then they can do as they please as it's no one else's decision but theirs. But for parents to make that grown-up decision for them and let them go through the life changing process, is crazy to me.

That’s right . Do not use any trans language, do not acknowledge that they exist, always “misgender” them and what you will find is that they will go away. The only reason they have any momentum is because the internet has made it seem like they have all this support, when in reality they don’t. It’s actually quite amazing. Mock distributions suggest that 9 in 10 Americans think this stuff is crazy, yet random polling reveals that ppl think 50-75% of the country politically supports Trans ideology. Most ppl are using the internet to gauge what they think the level of support is and it is truly amazing how we have conned ourselves into this. The internet has warped our perception of reality to such an extent that companies like Bud Light actually think that most of their consumers support Trans ideology, when they don’t at all, and thats why if you were scratching your head dumbfounded that they are running themselves into the ground.

Exactly. I have been an ally forever, my dearest friend for over 30 years is a drag queen. He is not transgender, nor transsexual. He is a gay man. He is not attracted to trans men, period. But he is called transphobic, can you imagine!? That makes us laugh and cry a bit, because ppl are so ridiculous these days when it comes to sexual attraction. As though you can choose who you’re attracted to. If that were the case no one would be gay to begin with, right?? These people are fighting against everything that was fought for, for so long and they don’t even see that. So… We think the confusion started because we used to call cross dressers/drag queens transvestites. I believe that is why the ‘T’ was added to the LGB movement to begin with and people weren’t aware that it wasn’t about transsexuals or transgender individuals. At least that is what myself, my bff and all of the “girls” in the drag community believe happened. We may be wrong, but we do all agree that being trans is not the same as being part of the gay/lesbian/bi-sexual community.

I am a gay black man who does not support Pride Month, and after watching segments from ‘What is a Woman,’ I feel thoroughly disgusted by the left. I wish I could easily distance myself from the gay community. My sexual orientation cannot and will not ever change, but I can certainly choose who I associate with, donate my funds to, and support politically. By the way, I have been ‘misgendered’ over the phone, and it has happened to me throughout my adult life. I don’t alter my voice; I speak naturally. I have never gotten mad when people say ‘Yes ma’am’ to me over the phone. How or why would I? They cannot help or change how I sound, and I cannot blame them for their perceptions. These individuals really need to understand and move past it.”

I’d only disagree on orientation not changing; mine did n I actually met some who had theirs change which really rocked my world n what I thought I knew, however it was their true journey and I had to respect that, so I did. However, I’d respectfully definitely agree with everything else you said. I had GD for years of my life and was seen as quite androgynous, did not subscribe to gendered roles, aside from obvious biological differences with reproduction and overall strength, and came to peace with my birth sex in my late 20s without transing. Male and female are what they are. I’m ok if ppl want to act/dress along with cultural stereotyping as they choose, but it doesn’t change their sex. Personality and preferences aren’t sex or all we are. I’ve been misgendered, lol since childhood n realised it was no big deal, just as you did. It seems like something is missing for those who can’t have a good natured laugh and just go about life.

What I find astounding is many of the same people who argue that people (particularly trans) should be able to identify as whoever they are and that everyone should respect and support those choices (pronouns, names, etc) are the ones shaming people for simple things like requesting to be called "she" or "him" and not "they," or to ask to not be referred to as a cis-gendered person. And even more mind-boggling is that the person who is detransitioning is being shamed for it. What is more basic to the argument supporting trans rights other than that individuals ought to be able to identify as a different gender and be allowed to modify their body to match that identity? I really don't care how anyone chooses to identify as long as they're not harming anyone else and yet I see that there is hypocrisy on the part of some trans activists. It's become so extreme that a person can't even have a logical, fact based conversation without being called transohobic if you're not on the "no questions asked" trans rights train. Respect is demanded and not necessarily earned or returned. Saying this is all about choice but then denying others the right to choose for themselves is absolutely ridiculous.

Women aren't included in the conversation, we have NEVER been asked what we want or feel, we have never been consulted when companies, bars, restaurants etc get rid of our spaces they just do it and never consult us, we've NEVER been consulted about the dehumanising language that is used when referring to us, or the fact our rights are being trampled on by entitled and over indulged men. We're just supposed to be OK about it. James Barr needs to shut up, saying that we're included in the conversation when we aren't. I'm tired of men telling women what a woman is, and what's happening to women and our rights etc. he has no idea so perhaps he should shut up and listen, but he won't because he can't handle people disagreeing with him and certainly can't handle women telling him he's wrong.

Incorrect. Conservatives want to protect biological females from these perverts who want to watch you in the bathrooms and showers. Conservatives want to ensure you have a level playing field in sports by not allowing someone who couldn't hack it with the men and ranked 490th out of 500 men swimmers to compete with women swimmers, then kick their ass and be placed on a pedestal like they're some kind of hero.

Congratulations, you have just experienced equality. Although you have only experienced 1/500th of what a man experiences on a daily basis, you have at least taken the plunge and dipped your toe in the experience of equality. It's as if you are dipping your toe into a lake of water - a lake in which thousands of men are drowning in and crying for help - and you're complaining, "How dare men make me dip my toe into this cold water! I'm tired of men telling me what to do!" That's how entitled and out of touch you are and ambivalent to men's predicament, feelings, and treatment. Just a small sampling of it and you come out cursing and blaming what you usually blame for everything - men. Men are burdened with carrying the entire weight of the world on their shoulders and get no recognition, rewards, or even acknowledgment of the sacrifices they make every day in the service of women and children. We are the providers, protectors, creators, builders, maintainers, inventors, defenders, workers, movers, and shakers. When an ice storm hits and the power lines are down, who do you think is out there in sub-zero temperatures stringing new power lines to keep you warm and cozy inside? It's not women. So now, a small group of men are calling themselves women and taking away a very small portion of the spotlight and attention from women and you go ape-sh*t. That's why most straight men stay out of this fray and just sit back and watch and laugh. Watching women get equality is as satisfying as watching busloads of illegal aliens dropped off in sanctuary cities. Isn't this what you wanted?

@@briancosgrove3261 Trust me there are no words that can describe my level of contempt for those women pushing and accepting this crap, I don't hate men far from it, but I do have a problem with men who demand I allow them to infringe on my rights, and identity and use us as a shield etc. I also have a problem with men that insist on telling women what a woman is and how we are wrong when we tell them that being a woman is more than a feeling and no man can ever be a woman. We won our right to equality of opportunity half a century ago and yet we still have men (those appropriating our identities and those who want to be seen as inclusive or just good old fashioned misogynists) telling us what to think, feel and accept and that infuriates me, as I really thought we had come further than that, but it seems we are regressing and I despair for what the future holds for women and our rights.
