Yarrow healing powder and anti-flu tea

Ғылым және технология

Krista shows how to make a natural yarrow powder "bandage" using the Sana grain mill. She then makes her favorite tea for treating colds and flu using the Sana 707 juicer. The tea recipe is 3 parts mint, 3 parts elderflower, and 1 part yarrow.

    I use a coffee grinder to powder my yarrow and then sift it with a sifter. :) Yarrow is amazing!

    I agreee. I keep a container of it on my desk. I never tried it with a sifter, but it's a great idea. I think the consistency would be very fine that way. Thanks for the tip.

    I can attest to the amazing healing power of the yarrow powder in cuts. Used it just as they directed here, kept a clean bandage on the wound as it was a sliced off finger tip😳 and within a week was bowling with the 🤚. Have used it several times since as it is now the go-to remedy. Just made some plain tea bags for the other uses, such as an acne astringent. Thank you for this awesome video!

    Great video, I have been researching yarrow lately and gathered and dried my own, I didn't know you could use the stem as well, I just kept the flowers and leaves. Thanks for the great video and I love the bloopers, it's nice to see I'm not the only one who has to do a ton of takes to get the video done lol

    Great video! Nice and clear on what to use and how. I can't afford all of those lovely toys you have but I do have a much smaller dehydrator... and to grind the dry items, I'll buzz them gently, to your consistency, in a Magic Bullet. Thanks for sharing!

    I have so much growing in a small herb garden I had to dig half out to make room for the other things, it spreads very easily. Its also growing around my compost because obviously some seeds escaped when I was composting last year - but I have never used it other than just to grow it despite knowing its medicinal uses. I am 100% going to dry and crush this year's yarrow and keep some near my shower for those razor cuts that seem to bleed forever. Not sure I'd feel comfortable using it on surgical wounds like my knee replacement but I'd be tempted for sure to see if it speeds healing.

    Just an amazing vid, it’s refreshing to learn new recipes. Just makes me want to jump in and try them out. Love the bloopers at the end. I was laughing so hard at 12:02 and 12:27 - Dan “it’s that what’s doing it” - Krista “Yaa…the mint is doing it” LOL!! Any chance of getting info on where to purchase some of the products Krista makes? Would love to try them out before buying a new machine from EUJUICER to make them. Looking forward to the next video :D PS. LETS SEE MORE OF KRISTA LOL!!!

    Thanks for the nice feedback. Definitely try out making tea or yarrow powder. As you can see it's super easy and herbs are free and everywhere. For now Krista makes her products mainly for friends and co-workers here locally in central Europe (my daughters and I are her guinea pigs lol), but maybe one day she'll expand that. Hopefully we'll see "more" of Krista this summer (not THAT way ha ha) when she has more free time to come in to the studio.

    This was great and he asked all the questions i would have had! I appreciated this. Thank you! Also, that is a really awesome juicer. I have the vertical masticating juicer. Would it also work to process the herbs into tea?... the bloopers at the end were so much fun! Thank you for the laughs!

    Thank you for the kind words. If your vertical juicer has a blank or homogenizing screen, you could give it a try. However, that is an unusual feature for vertical juicers and is typically found on horizontal juicers. Good luck :)

    Thanks for the kind words. This was a type of peppermint from our garden, but you can also use spearmint. I find peppermint to be a bit stronger since it has more menthol, but spearmint is a little sweeter.

    Hi there, What a great question. It is super important to have some basics ready to go at home so that you can begin taking care of your health when you need it. If you can't get all of these herbs together, some super important ones to have would be: peppermint tea, calendula tea, chamomile tea, oregano tea, and thyme tea. These will help you with any infection, wound, anxiety, and digestive issues that may come up. Please let me know if you need any help with your herbal first aid kit. The link below shows exactly what I keep in my first aid kit. Kindly, Krista kristasherbarium.com/2017/09/26/herbal-first-aid-kit-home-edition/

    When you have difficulty pronouncing "medicinal" you are not convincing me you know what your talking about. Do you wash it immediately after harvesting? How long do you allow for it to dry? What temps are best for drying, and what affect does sun drying have on it?

  • @euJUICERScom

    @euJUICERScom

    Жыл бұрын

    We checked with Krista. She doesn't wash it, to prevent possible mold, but she lets it sit for a day before drying to allow any insects to come out. She dries it at 35C for two days in the dehydrator. She doesn't dry it in the sun, as that can negatively affect the medicinal constituents. But you can dry it in a warm shaded place. Just periodically check it for mold in case of higher humidity. It can take a few days to a week depending on the temperature. She can pronounce medicinal, but just sometimes is nervous on camera :)
