    Looking good, you've inspired me to do something with my 1975 xs650 that I've owned since 1980!

    nice...i've owned a 1970 xs 1b. you better do something to strengthen the frame and you'll need to do something about the swing arm and especially the swing arm pivot area. the frames are very weak, which results in evil handling. a suggestion is a 177 degree crank to help with the vibrations.... keep up the great work.

    I am doing a similar build with a 1983 XS650. Just got a 1993 GSXR front, swing arm and wheels that I will try putting on it. Do you have any more details/pointers, any problems I should watch out for?

  • @Sorcli

    Denis Watch out for the rear wheel position, lifting the rear with longer shocks means the chain may touch the swingarm. A larger rear tire causes endless problems which meant I had to modify the swingarm. Front end was straight forward, trimmed a bit off the bottom of the neck. Make sure all front end parts are from the same year.

    What tire is in the back I like the size and look?

  • @Sorcli

    @Sorcli

    Andrew Espina It’s a 140 x 90 but I had to modify the swingarm (extend it) and have a longer chain to fit it. Don’t know if it’s worth all the trouble for 10mm more than stock.

    What the tire size?

  • @Sorcli

    @Sorcli

    Rear is a 140 x 19 16 but it's not worth it. I had to modify the swing arm as the tire is so wide it touches the sides and it has a longer than standard chain.

    Would a 07 gsxr 600 front end work as well or does it have to be a 750

  • @Sorcli

    Socal Fishing It should be fine. They all have a similar stem length. If I remember correctly the 600 and 750 are exactly the same.
