    Nice ! I have an early-frame XS650 cafe as well, same wheels ,twin-disk front , big-bore stainless headers, mufflers that 'Bark'. xs750 tank, period 70's rear-sets and clip-ons , larger 77 forks, hi-comp with ported-head-38mm carbs, gb-style cafe-seat ,longer braced 'V' swing-arm . I can stare at it all day. Dave NZ

Great job, mine won't be near as nice but just as practical. Not able to find about the tank. Is that on a separate video?

@@OldschoolBikes I have to address some mechanical systems first. Xs only has 7500 original miles but needs brake work an forks need to be rebuilt or possibly replaced with something modern. I also need a fuel tank. Looking for an earlier Xs tank possibly a 73 but man they are expensive.

@@mikebeasley553 a tip is to check with cognito moto what stem whey make for xs650 and then look after some front forks front that brand. Easley the cheapest way. And fuel tank are always expansive... but good luck! It’s always fun with more rebuilds!

@@OldschoolBikes You are correct Cognito moto is the reason I bought this Xs. The build they did with theirs is absolutely what I will be shooting for. Their Xs is beautiful.

Can I ask why you got rid of the lower part of the backbone and ran a tube on each side from the swingarm pivot to where the backbone had its bend? I can see what you did with the upper rear engine mount but what did you do with the lower one?

Hi! That part was already modified when we got the bike.. so I made a new mount there and the lower mount is still there👍🏻

Its a aluminium tank from a company in the uk. It wasn’t the best fit on the frame so I change the frame a bit, you can see it in other videos.

Dreadful handlebars. 2-3 miles of those handlebars and I would want off of the bike. Good looking exhaust pipes. Changing the position of the battery is likely to vibrate the battery a lot, not a good thing.
