Good grief , someone's actually built a cafe racer that looks like a cafe racer. Nice work , clean and simple build. Lovely bike.

There are some horrible 'attempts' out-there, they mix about three-different-styles and then 'voila' .....it's a cafe'-racer....?

@@kdsowen2882 Some of them drive me nuts. Chop the seat frame off , put a tiny seat on it and hey presto - cafe racer. My standard question to some of these "builders" is can you get your chin on the tank and ride it flat out ? That's when I usually get told to eff off.🤣

Absolutely right! Todays "cafe racers" look like anything except cafe racers.
Nice happy motoring. Xs 650 was my first road bike in 72.
Nice Build Buddy ✌️ greetings from a Caferacerdriver and KZreadr. Old bikes rule 🏍🔥
I miss my xs 650. I ended up selling it in boxes since I lost my work space right when I had it completely apart. They were a neat bike. Not for everyone but my style for sure.
damn that's good looken bike! man I know how much work that is, cant imagine filming it too! fantastic work Dr. M :)
What a beauty... 😊😊😊 And that nice tone... 😊😊😊
Sat down with a coffee to watch this.Great video
I've been looking for one of these for awhile. Nice job dude!!
Pretty slick....I'm sure Your customer happy with the build!!👌🤘✌️🤙
Some nice-touches there . I have a 73 TX650 Cafe-bike, very similar , built-up in the 70's (old like me) . It's hard to beat a nice Cafe-build . Dave NZ
Thank you so much for making this video, ill start with my own Yamaha XS650 next week, nice work! Greetings from Chihuahua Mexico.
Damn that thing was a beauty before you started working on it! Great job!
Nicely done. Thanks for the video
No, I haven't given up on the Virago. It's going on the backburner until I have the funds to finish the bike properly and do it justice. I'm tired of rushing out bikes. I have another customer XJ650 cafe racer build that I'm going to be taking on, and then we'll get back to the virago. Goal is to have both builds done before the end of the year. P.S. I didn't ride this bike because it wasn't registered/insured.
Super clean! Nice!
Awesome build 👍🏻
SO COOL, DOC!!!

Good morning,
Another nice bike…
I wish I could work that fast.
Bullet proof engines go for ever 😁😁🤘🤘🤘
I like it,,
🙌🙌🙌
Plz tell me. Did you mean remove pilot lets from carburator and large the main jet size? Plz explain. Thank you
I’m curious about how much time did it take to you to do this job
This is probably a long shot but, still worth a shot. Do you still have the rear frame hoop that was cutoff?
Do you have parts list for this build? Thanks
👍👍
had no idea you can get a fork lowering kit on these bikes. might have to deviate from old kawasakis to play with an xs650
What are the shocks you are using? Brand and length. Did you lower the rear as well?
What kind of rear shocks did you put on there?
What brand of shocks do you use and where did you get them thanks
cousa linda, heinm!
The amount of solder gave me a headache. Why prefer it over some perfectly good crimp connectors though? Otherwise A+ fabrication work and the videos are super satisfying to watch 👍
@Doug791

On a bike like this , crimp connectors can be a pain. They can become "loose" due to vibration , they're also prone to corrosion. Solder and heat shrink tubing everytime , ask me how I know.🙄🤣
Good job man , can i ask u, i m from morocco and i love classic bikes but all friend here advice me to dont get old bike bcs i will find hard to get it parts , what u advice me
What are the green and blue grinding/sending disks? Like manufacturer, type, grit?

3M scotch Brite pads you can buy on line or through auto parts stores that sell auto body supplies. Harbor freight has their versions of them and they are much cheaper but seem to hold up pretty good for the price as I've used them both .
Give it a few days before battery catches fire, XS vibrates too much and doesn't have a very good charging system even with a modern Yamaha R/R (R1?) Do you have a clue what your doing when you cut springs?
Make a eletric cafe racer bro
Suspension specs please? Whered u get them?
Where are those grip/ throttle from
Where did you get the seat?
It's cool how those old fashion Stators have brushes like that I never knew that. Hey also I been trying to increase the Quality of my content if you would like to just take a quick peak? If not I understand man sory if I have seemed like a whinny kid in the past I struggle with depression and anxiety really bad i watch your videos when I feel off and down. Great great video Dr Motocycle. 👍
You ever thought of a super charger like Kawasaki's H2 ?
no rearsets?
Hey Doc - do you happen to know of anyone in the Cleveland, OH area you could refer me to for some doctoring needed on an `82 CB750C ?? I believe you're in AZ so logistically I could never get that bike to you or I would.

Wish I could help, there's actually very, very few shops in the USA willing to work on/build Vintage Jap Bikes.

@@DoctorMotorcycle Yessir, 100% correct. Back in my Harley days I had several Shovelhead Electra Glides. Was fortunate that a life long buddy was one of THE top Shovelhead guys in OH and surrounding states so whatever I couldn't fix I always had a dependable plan B. Thanks for replying - good to know our Motorcycle community does what we can when we can where we can. Think I need another can LOL.

Great motor in the DOHC 750, as long as you keep up with correct maintenance. Biggest issue is the long cam chain tensioner as it rarely gets adjusted properly (2 tensioners) DON'T remove air-box unless you like a shit running bike or want to fit different carburetors, the '3 jet' Kei-Hin are almost impossible to get working properly without stock air system. Honda had to send carbs out for modification when they raced 'Superbike' in the 80's, Ledar Race Developments ended up converting carbs to 'conventional' 2 jet style (had to look 'stock' side on from about 30 ft away)
僕にも作って下さい!
Another great example of a classic that will never be original again… the long term value just fell by 50%
Is this for sale ???

Do you have a hornet infestation, man the buzzing is killing me, jeez. Maybe play a tune over the timelapse.
Your cutting tool is so silly
My apologies….REVERSIBLE MODS…. are GREAT mods…great ways to add uniqueness and enjoyment. But cutting frames, fenders or any other rare and not reproduced parts… ( to me) is just losing a little part of history. There was a “ movement” to ban converting World War Two fighter airplanes ( specifically the P51 Mustang) ban the Mustang from being converted into Racing Airplanes. … I’m not for laws banning activities that don’t hurt people. I am for ….. RESPECTING and appreciating tasty old things and not destroying them… So …reversible mods? Yes… permanently chopping ?….. no.
cool

Look on eBay and Mike's XS650 has these same shocks if I remember some in different lengths if you want to lower the bike some in the rear .
