    Thanks. You're right. I sold it in the end for about $5700, but didn't get anywhere near my money back as had to imported all the parts into Italy as that model never existed there.

    Sorry to hear that. You need a screw extractor but to use that you need to drill a hole in the centre which will mean you will need a right angle drill or you will have to dismantle the engine.

    That's not entirely true on the virago 1100 1994 it has black plugins and some of the plugins interchange

    What are the symptoms of you boiler? What fault does it have?

    If the symptoms are the same, spark not stopping, then it could be your flame sensor.

    @@moulesanctuary Does sound like that component or the flame sensor. Flame sensors are very cheap so you could try replacing that.

    If it's not a rotor-thickness-issue , you can try the old-trick of cable-tieing the brake-lever on (compressed for a few days (sometimes-works) . I have had to bleed them in the past , by unbolting calypers, holding them above the M/cylinder and bleeding them with a peice of ply between (to replace rotor) making sure the bleed-nipple is the highest-point of the system .     Nice one ! My shed is almost as-rustic , I have a 73 TX650-project (cafe) it's slowly getting-there , early-ones are a bit of a 'charging' nightmare but we'll get-there in the end , ignition is rustic-also , the later-ones you can use a GN250-suzuki ignition-box which solves a lot of problems .     Mines given the A01 code... but wouldn't switch on after a reset... I bought a replacement yesterday and had hot water and heating yesterday and this morning.... then it stopped... showing as A01 code... so turned off and on... but won't come back on..... do you think replacing the chip will fix it.... or I'll have to buy another replacement board... oh dear

    When it is running if you look in the window at the flame can you see and hear the igniter sparking continuously even when it’s alight? If not it is not the problem that I talk about this video. Is your pressure gauge reading 1.5 bar?

    If it is not him may be as simple as having to recharge the system with water to bring it up to 1.5 bar. There is also a pressure sensor on the boiler which could be faulty which may cause the A01 fault

    Your problems sounds to me more like a pressure problem so are you the pressure sensor or you just haven’t got enough water pressure in the system, as I mentioned above. But please bear in mind that I am not a boiler technician and my video is only for you to see what I did to my boiler in Italy.

    @@EricLawtonForbes You can always just make one out of thin cardboard taping the edges and make sure it fits and has a way of fastening it. Then take that to a metalwork who has a sheet metal bender, shouldn’t cost much to have it made.

    Very nice looking button! I repaired one for an XS400 years ago by screwing a washer into the back of the original plastic button, wich replaced the broken flange. Then I soldered over the screw head to smooth out the connecting part. Unfortunately the screw came through the front and it was very uncomfortable even after filing it down, haha! I've just now finished repairing the start button on my suzuki gs750, which had the inside mounting plate, that the wires solder to, broken. I made a new plate out of aluminium, and used a nail insulated by a rubber eyelet as the connection point the the button touches to. works fantastic now!

    My starter button is a little different, and the box kinda dismantled when it came apart. I have tried jumping connections. I wish this video would have shown what contacts the button is pushing. The button itself is inconsequential. What actually sends signal to start?

    Hi. If I remember correctly it is a negative connection. So it’s just a negative wire coming from the starter solenoid which when you push the button connects to the frame/body of the controls so negative from the battery.

    @@Sorcli Thank you so much for your answer. I think my issue must be concerning the run/kill rocker switch then. I have 4 wires and I've tried all combinations of crossing them and got nothing to happen. But knowing that the start wire is the negative means I can activate start procedure once I figure the other wires. Thank you.

    @@ricktipton9563 The kill switch may be the problem but I believe there are two others, one if it’s in gear and another on the side stand.

    I was able to jump across the wires. The black, crossed with blue red (L/R) engages my starter. Thanks for all your help. Within 10 days I will be riding

    If you are talking about the starter button, one goes to negative (the frame) the other to the solenoid which then supplies power to the starter motor.

    Hi Clive, cheers from Italy! After 5 months without having shower at home I can wash again at home! Really thanks man! Really really thanks my man! The specialist said “nothing to do, you have to change it all from the start”. Anyway the first condensator was an old one with like half millimeter legs and I blowed after 15 minutes, now with long legs after one hours, still work, and I hope will continue to do so

    If you leave the legs long and bend it away from the transformer it should help as I believe it’s the heat from the transformer which causes them to blow.

    I only recall there being two that go to the starter button, as it just closes a circuit and takes the negative to the solenoid. What year is your bike?

    @@thenatester7125 You need to look at the wiring diagram. I can’t find one online for the SR250 perhaps you’ll have to see if you can find a Haynes manual which as they always have wiring diagrams in them

    Yes, definitely. I use the steam to bring it up to a good temperature otherwise the coffee becomes cold straight away.

    Do not! Remove the spring, it’s not a factory error, the spring helps the starter sprocket disconnect from the stator wheel. If you pull it out, you end up with a busted stator wheel

    So I just found your page and I'm a big fan of viragos I am working on my like fourth one,mine's in the shop right now getting some straight pipes done so have you had any internal engine work done like bigger cylinders or anything or is that the initial mono shock year top dead center timing for that engine?, the 750.? Because when I get mine out of the shop I want to check it and I don't want to mess with it I'm not very good at internal work but I can build some mean looking bikes

    Hi. I haven’t had done any modifications to the engine. This is a XV750 first gen engine. That is how to find top dead centre. It you want to double check you can always remove the plugs and put a long screwdriver in which will rest on the top of the piston showing you that it is at its highest point.

    You are welcome. If you leave the legs of the capacitor long and bend it away from the transformer if may make it last longer. I believe that it’s the heat from the transformer that makes them become defective.

    What a great job you've made. Coming from a motocross background its normal to split the silencer and repack every 6 months or so. Would this not be a problem with it welded up, or is it not something you do with road bikes?

    To be honest it’s not something I thought of. I nearly packed it with fine wire wool which may have been better but was trying to go for a slightly quieter sound to not draw attention to the bike which it basically illegal in Italy. Unfortunately I never finished the bike and now have it up for sale 😞

    They'll break again. I have three broken springs in mine. Replaced them and also made a cush-drive for the rear wheel which the bike should've had. Most other Yamahas of the time had them - the TX-500 (but not the 750), the RD-250/350, the XT-500, and several others. Why not the XS-650 and TX-750?

    Yes, I agree. I have had both RD200 and 250 and also worked on the XT500 which all had them. Perhaps the design was just older and never updated during production.

    @@Sorcli Much as I love the 650, it has its faults and what irks me is that with the exception of the spindly frame ridiculous ignition system, they all remained until the very end. Oil filter prone to tearing, ball bearings in the steering, idiotic electric starter gears, temporary magnet alternator, no cush drive in rear wheel, etc. They all could've been upgraded if not changed to something better somewhere along the bike's run.

    @@Sorcli So have I but the last couple of models came with it, fired by the crank. One of only two improvements made by the factory, the other being the new frame in 1974. I've also put tapered rollers in the steering, fitted an oil filter off a small car, needle bearings in the swingarm, a stronger spring in the starter mechanism, and even rephased the crank to 90°. With the exception of rehasing the crank, Yamaha could've done all those things but they didn't.

    @@davidrayner9832 Sounds like you have done every possible upgrade. As I have never actually finished this bike perhaps you could tell me something which is puzzling me. Pulling in the clutch lever is incredibly difficult and requires a lot of strength and like my XV750. Is this normal or have I done something wrong on my rebuild?

    Thanks. Actually not much, just trimmed a few mm off the bottom of the neck of the frame and changed the bearings and the stem of the Suzuki fits straight on.

    Hi Clive; recently I have got the error 98e for baymak boiler, I am an amator electronic student (but a veteran) I tested a diode at digital display side there was a short circuit and as if there was nearly wrong values when measuring some of 817B optocouplers. I cut the diode and tested and saw diode is okey so that was very complicated for me and sent to service then I have realized that the problem about relays. Your video is very good source for me to learn I will follow. Thanks.

    I am merely an amateur who was sick of paying 180 euros to a technician to keep changing the whole circuit board every 2 years. Leave the legs of the component long (I did not in the video) so that you can push it further away from the transformer, as I believe that it is the heat from the transformer which is making them break.

    @@Sorcli thanks for reply the cost was about %7 of my salary but I dismounted and brought to electronic repair service (not boiler service) discount was %50 (cost to me about 15 dollars) but next time I may manage on soldering relays I think. Sorry but you know the relays work mechanically and too frequent intervals I really do not sure which one is more effective on break over heating or electrical sparks due to excessive work. However I will place a material to isolate between the transformer and relays.

    I write again not to mislead some one although as I was told that the error was due to relays then I tested the board to see the result so I connected the multimeter probes to the diode I mentioned above for the continuity test and tried short circuit of the legs of the all four relays but never short contact / beep sound happened for the BA157 diode so I am not sure that the information given me is correct about that the relays are cause of the error 98e!!??? It may be the service man's trick really I am not sure.

    @@Sorcli Hi; this error code in Baymak does not give any detail at Baymak's pdf user guide document but only saying "main control panel error" for 98e-99e error codes. When we see this code we cannot proceed to next or other steps. Digital screen is okey but system does not let you to use other function. In fact so far I had never used electronic digital boiler but central heating system so it may was so simple to be repaired but I did not know.

    They make wire wool for it too but that allows more sound to go through and is what is in the muffler/silencer on my other bike in the videos.

Non credo sia una questione di registrazione, credo abbia qualche problema nella collocazione dei crescendo e decrescendo. Comunque il suo materiale vocale mi sembra eccellente. In ogni caso considera questa una semplice opinione di un amante della musica, ma non di un professionista.🙂
