Ariston Microgenus (also Simat t2 lls) A01 Flame Sensor Problem Fix PCB Repair

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

23 MFFI, 27 MFFI and possibly other models. This is the repair that I did to the circuit board PCB to resolve the flame sensor detection fault. Symptoms are that it has been working but continues to spark, occasionally going into block. Then gets goes more often into block then eventually blocks after only a few seconds. Please make sure your flame sensor probe is working first. Maplins have an equivalent component if you are in a hurry. Here is the link to where to buy the part: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250-X-EPCOS...
Please note that I take no responsibility if you decide to do this repair as this video just shows what I did to mine while living in Italy.

    Hi Clive, cheers from Italy! After 5 months without having shower at home I can wash again at home! Really thanks man! Really really thanks my man! The specialist said “nothing to do, you have to change it all from the start”. Anyway the first condensator was an old one with like half millimeter legs and I blowed after 15 minutes, now with long legs after one hours, still work, and I hope will continue to do so

  • @Sorcli

    @Sorcli

    It could be the exhaust gas sensor which detects if the gas is burning correctly, somewhere at the top where the fumes exit. Normally if you disconnect the two wires from the sensor and connect them together it bypasses the sensor. The sensor may be defective or the gases are not getting out the flue correctly. Also did you replace the PCB with a new one, or reconditioned? The new version has a new arrangement of components near the part I replaced. If it is reconditioned or used it may be defective.

    Is yours a 24 MFFI? if it is the A77 error refers to the condensation pipe being blocked.

  • @Sorcli

    @Sorcli

    6 жыл бұрын

    If it is the 24, I found this on a forum but doesn't mean a lot to me as I don't have this model, but it may help you: Hi, I just fixed this fault on my Micro-Genus 24 HE. The A77 fault is quite common on these boilers. Basically the boiler thinks that the sensor is open circuit (broken connection ) or short cicuit (Water across the 2 terminals in the recuperator). It is a safety device to check that the condensate pipe is not b locked and hence condensate backing all the way back up to the flue pipe. First thing to do is check that the condensate is able to run freely from the bottom of the recuperator down the pipe, into the condensate trap and out of the boiler. You do this by taking the rubber hose off the bottom of the recuperator and pouring water down the pipe. It should run out of the grey flexible pipe at the bottom of the boiler. Mine was fine. Next remove the fan and remove the sensor across the two terminals on the side of the recuperator. I think this is just a resistor, so just check it's not open or short circuit. Clean any corrosion off the two terminals and reassemble and test. If this does not fix it then you will need to drain the boiler down un-clip the 2 pipes on the front of the recuperator and remove the 4 screws holing it in place. Remove it from the plastic housing. The metal fins on mine were corroded on the bottom edge and this corrosion was present on the bottom of the recuperator housing and between the 2 metal pins that connect to the sensor on the side of the recuperator. You need to remove ALL the limescale and corrosion and polish with P1200 Wet and dry. I also rubbed the bottom face of the plastic housing with a rag with a tiny smear of silicone grease. It's important not to get this on the face of the 2 metal pins that connect to the external sensor. You know when the bottom face is clean, if when you flick water on to the inside bottom surface of the plastic housing it balls up and will run down to the recuperator exit pipe. Ensure the gasket is in good order as it stops carbon monoxide leaking out of the recuperator. Reassemble and it should work fine. I have not had any more A77 faults since doing the above. NOTE: YOU MUST ONLY UNDERTAKE THIS TYPE OF REPAIR IF YOU ARE A CERTIFIED GAS ENGINEER. Read more: www.diynot.com/diy/threads/ariston-microgenus-24-he-mffi-error-a77.369178/#ixzz57H4gEBKq

I bought a replacement yesterday and had hot water and heating yesterday and this morning.... then it stopped... showing as A01 code... so turned off and on... but won't come back on..... do you think replacing the chip will fix it.... or I'll have to buy another replacement board... oh dear

    When it is running if you look in the window at the flame can you see and hear the igniter sparking continuously even when it’s alight? If not it is not the problem that I talk about this video. Is your pressure gauge reading 1.5 bar?

  • @Sorcli

    @Sorcli

    If it is not him may be as simple as having to recharge the system with water to bring it up to 1.5 bar. There is also a pressure sensor on the boiler which could be faulty which may cause the A01 fault

    Your problems sounds to me more like a pressure problem so are you the pressure sensor or you just haven’t got enough water pressure in the system, as I mentioned above. But please bear in mind that I am not a boiler technician and my video is only for you to see what I did to my boiler in Italy.

    Thegoodpal Hi. I think not. That sounds like a problem with the sensors that are on the top of the boiler, one on the right and the other on the flue. Make sure your flue and air intake are not obstructed. I think it basically means the mix and burn quality are not correct.

    thanx for answering, i just check all air intake, they are not obstructed. and i wanted to check that cap, it's giving 86nf .... do you think its ok ?

  • @Sorcli

    Thegoodpa Sorry l don't know what 86nf is. A01 is the error code for the flame ignition not working so I think if you have another error code it's something else.

    i measured the capacitor and it's value on the multimeter is 86 nanofarad not 100nf as it should be.

    Thegoodpal Ah! Sorry now with you. But does it continue to spark even though it's lite? That is the confirmation that is that resistor. But as they cost so little you could try changing it. They cost about 3p each.

    José Pérez Sorry but I don't understand the question, which is probably because I'm no electronic expert. Have you read the description under the video? It has a link to the part needed. You may find it easier to view on a PC and not a phone
