New subscriber but I've been watching for a cool minute. And love the content 😎 For me when i get to the clients house and the vehicle is super clean i always ask the client what are there main concerns or if there is anything in particular that they would like me to give extra attention to, and that gives me a feel of what they are expecting, this way i can deliver the results the customer is expecting! And imo to me it seems to take longer to do those extra clean vehicles then it does something that's visibly dirty 🤣

I’m a team of 4, Recently installed Gyeon Evo on ‘18 Dodge Durango. Charge was $2,100.00, interior shampoo. Knocked it out in 8hrs. I pay each helper $20 a hour. So that’s $480 in labor. Here’s the catch, the owner doesn’t have a garage so I had to hold the vehicle for three days in total in a controlled environment garage; and by that I mean temperature with no exposure to nature’s elements. The car uses a bay to paint correction and application of protection. So one out of the three bay is down for 3 days. Each bay averages about $600-1000 a day. It’s 50/50 because at least with the coating I secured the bag

I still do it bro! The reason being, just because I doesn't look dirty, it does not mean it's not dirty. If the customer is asking you to do it it's because it's been a while since their last detail. Even though it looks clean, there is still dust and dirt that starts to settle. Last thing you want is for that dust and dirt to cause permanent damage/stains.

That takes the stress of “Oh am I missing something” and “I hope they don’t call back with bad news”. Just my way

Wayne it all depends on if you do correction beforehand. Correction is what takes the time not the coating itself. The coating process itself can be completed within an hour or two. Minus curing time of course. 👍

On the comparison between coatings/paint correction vs. Dirty details. It really depends because eventually you aren't gonna want to physically work as hard. You can make a lot now but it takes a toll, especially in the summer heat. I would transition into more paint correction and coatings. Maybe have employees do those physical jobs and you focus on the high end stuff.

Ceramic coatings jobs work a one step polish can be around 900-1300. Two step correction is 1200-2000. If you have two experienced detailers you could knock out two coating jobs in one day because you don’t have to worry about it raining and jobs being cancelled. One very experienced person could knock out a one step and coating job in one day and start another. Working in a garage which has to be done when coating when it gets dark the work can continue. There are plus and minuses to both. I recently quoted a lady for a two step correction and coating for $3000 on an extended Chevy suburban. By myself could take 2 and half days. With someone we could knock it out in a very long day.

Every time you go to harbor freight and make a purchase they give you a coupon that’s good for two weeks on your next purchase. Don’t convince your client to go on a maintenance plan, 1 give them the coupon with the receipt and don’t say anything about it. 2 collect their emails and put them in your CRM system and set up a automated follow up email reminding them the coupon expires in 3 or 4 days. Coupon could be anything like 10% off your next wash or 20% off on clay bar service.

Already clean car can do the option of a basic/maintenance cleaning with our shop. Rule of thumb is least aggressive process first. A light duty cleaner all the way up to a interior degreaser. Or, lightest compound all the way to a wet sand. So if the carpets don't really need extracted, why put the fibers through the process? Just like paint correction, I can only work a clear coat so many times so far down. That light grey carpet probably could've used it though. As far as ceramic, we're maxed at 3-4 a day.. size dependant and if paint correction is being done or not. Definitely the money maker over interior, and easier when you know what you're doing.

With ceramic coatings it can vary on the type of polish that you do. Not all cars need a full 2 step polish. Some need just a one step or none at all. So I think it really varies on the system. Personally I think coating are more profitable because of the upcharging you can do.

Correction work, ceramic coatings is where it's at, PPF is also good! On avg with a helper im taking home $175hr doing correction and coatings. Paint enhancement, 1-step with coating depending on the size of vehicle maybe 5hrs to complete that's without interior work. Solo tho I will spend more time on the vehicle, but I charge accordingly. Bottom line its good Money! Then sell the customer on every two-week maintenance service... Mult step correction will take longer, and I charge more.

Coatings jobs really depends on how anal you wanna be with the polishing part of it, and taping etc and number of passes, paint hardness etc. I’ve spent multiple days on cars many times to really make everything really nice but I’m charging $1000 plus to do that and I’m solo. I often get $1400-$1800 tickets. I also prefer to take my time and go back and check everything and do inspection reports etc etc, plus take nice videos so the client can see what all happened and we found etc.

My question is what do you pay experienced Detailer’s bro? I’ve never done that before so do they ask for how much they want or you do percentage?

Ceramic coating is not to long, I can coat a car we will say a urus exterior tone coat 45-1.15 minutes. The paint correction is always the correction for all cars. New/old, soft/hard paint…. All kinds of stuff I’ve spent 5-15 hours on correction I’ve done 30-75 hours. If you charge accordingly and clients understand the ceramic material cost your labor cost. You can make more money with ceramic coating based clients if you can keep them rolling in regularly.

ive learned in business that when you tell the client you don't need a certain package because the vehicle is already clean, you don't make money. I say stick to the scripts is what i learned if you want to hit that 6 figures as a mobile detailer.

If you give me 2 guys, I could get 2 cars a day done ceramic coating cars. I charge $1800 roughly, and most of my coatings are trucks and large SUV’s. So $3600 a day. Could probably do 3 disaster cars maybe 4 a day with the same crew….would pull maybe $2k on those jobs. Now, In WV I pull disaster cars all day long, but ceramic coatings seem to be a harder sell and more competition, where the disaster jobs, my competition doesn’t want to touch. Soo, so I grab a little of each pie. As much of the hard work Im willing to put up with, and the slice of the “cake” coatings Im gracious enough to receive. Me myself can do them in one day now.

I rather get work on what I’m most comfortable, so I rather work on doing shampooing and extracting on 3-4 cars a day, yes it’s more labor work but I’ll be more then confident when I leave with my money.
